Serious Sam fans may be a bit distraught at the first level of this game. Enemies come slowly, you have iron sights on your pistol, a reloading system, it all seems so foreign. The level's packed in tight with cover everywhere, and you'll find yourself saying "Wait. Where are the waves? Where are the open spaces? Am I really playing the right game?"

And then the second level happens, and you round a corner, and you'll see a long, wide corridor, and are expected to survive an ever-increasing wave of badness with a pump-action shotgun. And then you will say "Ah, yes. There's the Serious Sam I know."

It holds tight to the tried-and-true Serious Sam formula that we've all grown to love, and it will not let you down if you're looking for action, long holds of the trigger, and endless backpedaling/strafeing. My only complaint is that there are cutscenes with dialogue to help progress the story. It explains Serious Sam, but it always seems to interrupt the action.
