Visit Game Journalists Are Incompetent Fuckwits's profileCalling it "2D Minecraft" rather undersells just how exciting, enjoyable and addictive this game truly is. Well worth your hard-earned dollarpounds.
Quite closed and claustrophobic when compared to the open sprawl that was Serious Sam: The First and Second Encounters, but still a wonderful FPS that isn't ashamed of the genre's roots.
One potential problem, though: Even on my relatively beefy PC, the game stutters, stalls, and freezes. This is rather surprising considering how well-optimized previous Serious Engine games have been. I'm sure this is more to do with my system configuration than anything else - perhaps the game doesn't like 64-bit Win7 - but I thought it worth sharing.
Dear Epic Games,
When you feel the need to take time out of killing people to give an in-universe explanation for how respawning works, you've lost sense of why people actually want to play your game. UT3 could have been great, but you bogged it down with canon, and story, and it simply wasn't needed.
Sincerely,
Me
