I hope I don't need to explain to you what Civilization is. :) If you like TBS, buy this game. Every Civ game has its charms but Civ 5 feels like the most polished and streamlined of them all. Despite some simplifications and removal of religion and espionage the game is as exciting as ever. It just focuses on what's important - becoming the ruler of the world. Who cares about espionage anyway?
Starving for some classic RPG action? It is time to try out Dragon Age. This game offers some challenging battles (Dragon fights are awesome) and a couple of worthy quest arcs. The world is vast and is fun to explore!
And do not be put off by the fact Dragon Age II is out. Origins is unique in many aspects and shares almost no story line with the sequel. Dragon Age II moves away from classic RPG towards a more story telling type of gameplay similar to Mass Effect. It is different from the original in a lot of ways.
Trust me, you will not be disappointed!
P.S. Avoid console versions. Dragon Age: Origins should be played on PC.
