To dismiss Terraria as a "2 Dimensional Minecraft" would be a foolish and uneducated assumption at best, to claim it to be a working, volatile mixture of some of the best elements of Platformers, Sim-games, RPGs and Sandbox enviorments would be more accurate.
There are so many things Terraria does right that there would really be no point in trying to cover them all, the building and crafting mechanics are solid, the game oozes with potential and there are boss battles and detailed enviorments to explore, however there are flaws, the graphics style, although aesthetically wonderful and very reminiscent of "aulden days" side-scrollers (A la Zelda 2 or Castlevania), do leave something to be desired in terms of potency and raise the question as to where the aesthetic style was a deliberate style choice or a consequence of the small/underfunded nature of the studio that produced the title, the game also feels somewhat incomplete in some areas but these are all minor complaints. Buy it!
It's probably not the hardest Poker game simulator out there... but let's be honest, you didn't buy it for the difficulty. At it's price it's one of the most charm-filled cross-over titles out there, it's some sort of PC version of Super Smash Bros Brawl with Poker!
Even if you aren't a big Poker fan or don't even know how to play Poker all that well, don't worry, the game's mechanics are easy to follow and the characters are charming with amazing interactions between them (Voice acting is great as well, no complaints here). The game could do with a "Tutorial mode" however.
A definite buy if you're a fan of Penny Arcade, Team Fortress 2, Sam & Max and/or Homestar Runner... otherwise, buy it anyway, it's like under 4€ and it's a really fun experience.
One of the gaming masterpieces of the decade, it's a unique experience yet one that is somewhat short-lived, despite it's amazing single-player campaign and the various "exploration = reward" moments, Bioshock offers nothing after the campaign is finished.
I recommend it for it's compelling campaign and unique design, but not for it's lifespan.
