The community within TF2 is growing, but right now its struggling to maintain teams that stick together for more than a season. Cevo has its largest amount of TF2 teams in any season before, in fact its doubled its attendance this year which is a good sign but can these teams stick together? The best way to be successful is find a group of 6-8 players and stay together as long as you can, scrim against the best teams you can to improve.

Team Fortress 2 community sites such as commFT ( http://CommunityFortress.com ) have really taken a stretch to helping the TF2 competitive community, such as contacting and interviewing Valve's Robin Walker about what valve is planning on doing for future tf2 for both the competitive and public scene. GotFrag ( http://www.gotfrag.com/tf2/home/ ) has really stepped up its participation in TF2's media scene after recruiting a staff of writers and editors to keep the Gotfrag page fresh and updated.

There are three main leagues that the TF2 competitive players of North America focus on and remain the most popular among us.

1.) ESEA- Provides the best prizes and awards for its top contenders but this comes with a cost. $5 Entrance fees and $6 monthly subscriptions to its premium members. Premium members have the opportunity to compete for monthly prizes such as video cards and other hardware/ equipment. ESEA has introduced a section for statistics of each match and "pick up game," so the you can find all the top fragers, and or capture point whores out there.

2.) CEVO- Maintains the largest amount of contenders in its league, so far about 160 teams spread across the CEVO free and Main divisions. This seems to be the one league that constantly grows each season but its lack in breaking apart skill divisions seem to cause corruption each season.

3.) TWL- Appears to be the favorite league this year. Although its known in other games for holding a spot for the "amerature's" it has the best division organization, so the lower skilled teams/ beginners are not having to play invite teams. I support the league but still put it third on the list because the "winner" receives nothing from the league but reputation/ recognition.
