Not complaining about the English voice overs but more the fact that the audio almost sounds compressed. As if like coming out of a can at some points. Additionally sometimes the voices are super loud and others are quite. Is there anything that can be done about this?

While I can't add anything with regards to the user experience to this, I've played the game on a high end set of headphones and on the contrary were unable to notice any audio inconsistencies either in Normalization/Levels or in terms of actual compression.

With that in mind, the actual voice data used in the game is completely uncompressed - they are lossless .wav (WAVE) files all bundled up in one directory. (I'm not on my PC right now but if I recall there's around ~14000 of them).

R9 290 here, GPU that is basically the same silicon but with 4 less compute units. I've played through the entire game without any issues at all. This must indeed be some very odd combination of factors as the person may have hinted at above.

It happens right where I described and yes, even in that branch. They are right where I described them, and I don't need to do anything since the crash occurs right at the end of that cutscene, so I wouldn't be able even if I wanted to. As for not seeming to be laden with bugs, gamebreaking ones like these ones shouldn't have been left in in the first place, so pointing toward the beta testing isn't very persuasive. Thanks for the quick answer nonetheless.

I would very much like to provide the savegame right before them, but I couldn't find it anywhere, so I'm unable to do so.
Save data is located at
%USERPROFILE%/Saved Games/Falcom/ed8
(Your user directory's Saved Games folder)

The save file you want will be appended by the same number as the slot ingame to which you have saved to, i.e. 392nd slot's save would end on 392.

You do not need to upload the thumbnail, just the save only :).

In topic Whose idea was the addition of Turbo Mode?
Turbo Mode was Durante's own implementation in terms of Cold Steel, however here's a little something you might not have known. The Chinese Joyoland port of Ao to PC (and probably Zero - although I wouldn't know about this one) also has a turbo function. I don't recall if it's configurable but the game can be sped up to 2x by holding the "Shift" key.

I know how to edit crafts and arts alright, I've almost mapped out the entirety of the file which controls them.

I've already done a few interesting things, like an all map AoE that kills everyone with 100% chance (mass suicide), just for fun.

Thinking about it, having a circular battlefield weakens the way you could abuse the corners of the battlefield against big melee attackers without making that tactic completely invalid. The battlefield still needs to be bigger though.

Free movement would be OK if you had toggleable range indicators though that would be annoying in its own right.

See about the passive link abilities like Cover and Auto Ep. I do understand that they are very useful but they are completely random and don't add any tactical choices except link pairings. That's why I don't like them not because they aren't good.

Those are actually "magic", in the same sense as link attacks and crafts - in which sense, I could probably disable them if I wanted/tried to.

Patch 1.0.0
- All crafts heavily nerfed to uselessness
- S-crafts removed from the game
- Class VII no longer says "my turn"
- Arts buffed to "relevence"
- Master quartz removed from the game
- Delay now effects the user of the craft with delay
- Link attacks now create dance offs between the 2 linked characters...

...and other such "important" changes.
Sounds Great!

Forgot to add: "Noble Command now has a 50% Effectiveness rate as the character can choose whether to listen"

Speaking of Ao since Crossbell was brought up again, that wonderful ]final boss has the greatest S-Craft ever seen "Great Disintegration of Space and Time", it quite frankly, destroys the world. (100% Game Over)

At this point I just wish it would also delete your save game, shame it doesn't do that.

The zipfile you unearthed is amazing, btw. It includes the stats for FC, SC and The 3rd including the freaking stat progression per level for all characters (which are quadratic functions as I thought). Interestingly, there is no break between FC and SC in that regard. The only slight problem is that the archive was never updated to include changes from patches. For instance they must have buffed Julia enormously, her release version is godaweful.

So yeah, thanks again. :)

If you want a firsthand opinion on Zero, then I didn't find that game to be particularly difficult on NG Nightmare, main reason being that plenty of bosses can be AT Delayed like in CS (although you are much, much, much more limited than in CS on how you can AT Delay an enemy), in some cases you can also blind enemies too.

In my case, I did have to overcome various hurdles though such as being stuck with a Japanese Arts section in notebook, but with FAQs on the net, this didn't cause that much of a problem.

It's been a while since I've played so I wouldn't go indepth.
There are some interesting bosses though, with various resistances, a timed battle and some interesting tanks.

The difficulty for me was around the same as Sky 3rd for most of the game, although the mid-game was relatively easy, it was a bit easier than SC but a bit harder than 3rd.

Ao though is the real game where difficulty of some fights becomes fun from what I get told specifically, especially the final boss I keep hearing about, which, for example as one of its capabilities will reflect an attack and kill you if the damage dealt is 20+k.

If so, it appears that a copy of it is available on Github: https://github.com/shencore/shencore.github.io

You may simply open index.html in your web browser.

Nope, I do not myself, I have seen that you posted that ed6.sorabbs.t_k (without _) is down though, probably indefinitively.

The information though which you seek, at least a smaller chunk of it would appear to probably be available in certain FAQ sites, I have seen it reposted by English Authors in their own formats.

I've never concerned myself with the formulae specifically and always preferred to work things out by hand as I've played. However, on the other hand, at the very least what I have is the formula for EXP (and I think SPD), as I've left it in the source code of one of my tools I've worked on at one point. (I was writing a monster editor at one point for Sora SC and Sora 3rd but then I never got around to finshing it)

Don't worry, I've hinted it at him too a good few times.
As I write this, right now, I'm watching him struggle through the fight xD.

He's Lv65 which was the same as me when I finished the game last week for the first time blindly under Nightmare :P

Edit: GG, it took him just over an hour. I am scolding him for using a guide to figure out the final stance though :P
