What an experience, should be an inspiration to all "gets repetitive after a while" type of games out there. This game slaps a new mechanic or two on your face simultaneously whenever you think you are entering the loop. Gives you the perfect mixture of humorous gameplay and difficult roguelike feeling. Hands down my favorite game of the year and I sincerely hope we get more of this in the future.

Before we begin, I've tried to play souls-like games before and most of them were short term failures for me. The idea of dying constantly until you get good was never something I would bother to get used to. Now to see where all of those games were originated from and what the actual idea was behind it, im fascinated. From my perspective, this astonishingly executed idea is the satisfaction at the point you achieve victory and realising you are not actually someone special.

You are just an undead who will walk the path of many who have already taken; some of which have failed, some of which kept on. Achieving victory doesn't just mean you killed the boss, what actually happens is you don't have to run the same path all over anymore, you are ready to explore new places, the NPC's will boast you and see who have managed to make it as far as you have.

The best part for me is to find out the reason why I had to go through a specific fight. Why did I have to kill them? This brings us to the beautifully written lore behind Dark Souls which I will not go over here and will make do with only saying just pay attention to your surroundings. The grim setting will dramatically affect your immersion to the game.

I am truly grateful to the makers of this masterpiece who helped me overcome my prejudices on the difficulty of the series and alike.
