Joseki: I have been personal witness to all the troll skulls you have collected, and I always wonder why they keep coming. Why on God's green earth would trolls attack you, when they have seen that their fellows and comrades all meet a grim fate at your hands?
Joseki: I ANSWER
Joseki: THEY WISH TO BE THE ALPHA TROLL
Joseki: THEY WANT YOUR POSITION AS LORD OF ALL THAT IS TROLLISH
Joseki: YOU MUST NOT FALL IN BATTLE. THE INTERNET BEGS OF YOU.
An incredible little gem, worth playing if you have the few hours it will take. While the gameplay may not be unique, the music and the narrative (and style in which the narrative is told) make up for any other shortcomings the game could possibly have.
A fun roguelike with a nice graphical interface. Not even remotely balanced and not as difficult as some (most?) other roguelikes, but definitely a blast to play. If you're willing to play around with odd builds and such, the game could last you a very long while.
Do NOT buy this game in its current state! Not only is it an absolutely terrible console port (no video options outside of resolution, capped at 30 FPS, god-awful mouse and keyboard control, and much more), it is poorly optimized and includes Ubisoft's infamously terrible DRM.
This would merely be 'bad' (and, really, expected of Ubisoft's PC releases) if not for the fact that Ubisoft outright lied to its customers about what kind of DRM it would have. An official post on the official forums explicitly and pointedly said it would not have this DRM. Furthermore, it was not revealed until after the game was released that it would only run on a very limited number of GPUs.
This is a perfect example of what a company should not do to gain fans, especially among the somewhat picky PC crowd. A beautiful game with an interesting concept and low price tag marred by what is quite possibly the worst port ever, with the 'features' of draconian DRM, shoddy optimization and unnecessary UPlay.
