It's pretty good.
If you like Star Wars and you like Lego, you'll probably like it.
Also, lots of Star Wars memes, which is great.
It still doesn't beat the old Lego Star Wars games though, but it's a nice addition.

Early Access Review
Great coop horror game!
Very fun to play with friends, messing with each other or with the ghost (at your own risk).
It seems there's always something new to learn, especially with the frequent updates,
so it doesn't bore quickly, despite the repetitiveness of the missions.
Give it a try, even if you don't like horror games normally, I'm a massive scaredy cat and I love this!

Achieving 100% completion on this game was quite an experience.
I mean, if you just want to play the story, sure I recommend this game, but if you want to get that 100%,
you'll need lots of patience and dedication, because boy, does this game have many bugs and glitches.
I had to Google my problems many times, and I did find some clever solutions, but occasionally I would have to restart the game too.
Also, and this just might be me, but acrobatic features like jumping and balancing on ropes and planks were very awkward, resulting in me having to retry certain part dozens of times.
But then again, maybe I'm just clumsy, I played on keyboard too, it might be better with a controller.
So I can't recommend finishing this game 100%, although I'm secretly proud I managed to do it anyways ;)
But apart from that, this is a classic Lego game, with it's typical humour and creativity, and it's bloody LoTR, so buy it already!

I only bought this out of nostalgia.
As a kid I used to play the ♥♥♥♥ out of the demo version of Worms 4: Mayhem on pc,
while playing Worms 2 & Armageddon on the Gameboy.
It inspired me to make lots of Worms drawings at school :')

A true classic, I'm glad I played it before the definitive edition came out.
The missions can be very hard at times. That kind of challenge is not really my thing tbh,
I'd rather play games for relaxation, but the story was well worth it.
For its time this game looks really great, but if you want you can polish up the graphics with mods too.
Anyway, I think this game is well worth a shot, it's a game you won't soon forget!

Early Access Review
After having played this properly for a few days I can definitely say I recommend it.
It's early access, so there's still a lot of stuff to be added, but at this stage it's already totally playable and really enjoyable.
If you enjoyed the first Mount & Blade games, you'll like this one too.
There's still a few bugs and some balancing issues, some dialogue missing, but it hardly bothers me.
The only thing I miss, is the 'enable death' option, which doesn't seem to work yet sadly.
Apart from that this seems a great addition, nay, improvement to the Mount & Blade game series.

TLDR:
The heyday is over, but Blockstorm is kept alive by a small amount of active players.
You might as well give it a shot, since it’s really cheap, especially with discount.

Review/retrospect:
Exactly five years ago I bought Blockstorm randomly while scrolling randomly through the store. I was pretty new to Steam and had no idea what kind of games I wanted. That’s when I stumbled upon Blockstorm and after pondering if I really wanted some ‘Minecraft shooter’ curiosity took over and I bought it without knowing it would become my favourite game for years.

I tried the editors and discovered the map editor would be my specialty, encouraged by an exceptional devoted community. A community that grew, and was closely involved in the development of the game, through developers simply asking for suggestions and beta testing. Gamemodes, editors, achievements, npc’s, vehicles and more were added, keeping the old players interested and pulling in new players.

Sadly the development of Blockstorm was suspended around 2016, and the active community slowly shrinked. The amazing community and developers which kept me and lots of my friends (which I mainly met in Blockstorm) excited and challenged to explore the possibility of this game. All in all being part of the development of this game was a great experience for me and, I’m sure, a lot of other people.

About the playability of this game itself: I haven’t found an editor that works so well in any game as the editors in Blockstorm. It’s easy to learn and has lots of handy tools to quickly make huge buildings and landscapes without much effort. With a bit of experience, and maybe a little help from a guide great things can be achieved relatively easily.

Out of the gamemodes the most interesting ones are the standard (Team)Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, but also Assault in which you have to capture or defend an area. Castle Battle and Hunt can be fun too, but in my opinion not stimulating enough to play often.
The vehicles (mechas) are great to cause lots of destruction but are a bit overpowered. The npcs (zombies) are creepy and fun (they dig tunnels towards players to kill them).

The official maps and weapons seem balanced and are fun. Standard Blockstorm matches stay exciting because of the constantly changing environment due to destructions and added structures. And of course the players goofing around with various impressive or silly character and weapons skins.

So that’s basically it.
I improvised this in about an hour, because I remembered this is my 5 year Blockstorm anniversary and a great opportunity to write a review. Of course I should have written one way sooner, but I always delayed it, because I didn’t know how to write a review for my all time favourite game. I felt like I had to write some kind of huge epic one, I don’t know... Anyway here it is.

About 4 years ago a friend recommended this game to me.
At first I wasn't impressed at all, because I simply had no idea what I was supposed to do.
After a year I suddenly got completely sucked into the game, attracted by all the possibilities this game offers.
The thrill of discovering and unlocking new stuff in this game is just amazing, especially when you're playing with friends.
So now it's my turn to recommend it to you, this game is definitely worth checking out! :D

This game was suprisingly fun.
Suprisingly because I'm actually not a huge fan of The Force Awakens film,
and because I didn't like the other LEGO games as much as the old LEGO Star Wars games.
Also, this is the first LEGO game I completed 100% after the first LEGO Star Wars game.
This game has lots of fun sidemissions, is full of humour and introduced some nice new features like blaster battles.
However I also encountered some glitches and crashes, and like every LEGO game the keyboard controls make no sense.
(I always change it to the keyboard controls from the first LEGO Star Wars game, which were fine)
Despite that I really enjoyed this game, enough to complete it 100%, so I definitely recommend it.
