This ended up being a great Sonic game. I was really curious to see how well the old-school speed mechanics would do with updated graphics and a new layout (world map, tweaked controls). I found it challenging enough to be engaging, but not nearly as brutal as the older games could be (particulary Sonic & Knuckles, which always gave me fits). Recommended for platform fans looking for a game with fun achievements to pursue and leaderboards to attack.
