In CS there are only two types of players – Frosty Players and Dead Players. Each game is six minutes long and at the end of six minutes you are either alive or you are dead – that’s it. It is worse than "deathmatch" games because you don’t pop back to life. You get to float around while your team gets annihilated! Personally I love it!
1. NEVER-EVER GO IN THE OPEN!!! This is not, I repeat NOT tfc! If you go in the open YOU WILL DIE! If you must cross an open area do it quickly. Then, from cover, immediately look behind you! There is no "picking daisies" in this game. If you get good at CS and then go back to play TFC you will find that you have become a viscous animal!!!
2. When you see, just see, a bad guy you have a split-second to decide whether to stay or flee (I recommend RUN AWAY unless you are behind him). If you even think he’s got the drop on you then flee. You can’t creep around corners if you suspect you’ve been seen. You will be dead.
3. Even if you are in the most perfect firing position you ONLY GET ONE CHANCE to use it, sometimes two, never three. Those enemy guys are frosty remember. They saw what you just did to their buddy and they are not going to walk up and say "hey, shot ME TOO!" They will toss a grenade, go behind-over-under you and, you guessed it, YOU WILL DIE!
4. The best use of RogerWilco. ( Author's tutorial was EDITED to reflect proper [TiC]Clan policy.) 9jan03
5. There are two kinds of weapons Long Range and Short Range. Don’t get them confused. An AK47 is an excellent short range weapon but don’t rely on it for coverage outside. If you have a short range weapon then stick to hallways – let them come to you. If you have a long range weapon ( like a fully automatic rifle with a scope) then you can venture into more open terrain (still remember rule #1 though).
6. If you are new to this game or if you only have some wampy handgun – LET YOUR TEAMMATES GO FIRST. This may sound cruel - but hey - this game is cruel! Let them die, grab their guns, lets them show you where the enemies at. Just don’t hide or camp, if you get a clear shot take it. But you don’t have to be a hero if your not equipped yet.
7. Grenades are only good from behind. If the enemy sees a grenade coming they will easily avoid it. If you can surprise them then your grenade can be very usefull.
