Tons of fun, not just a kids game. Take Paper Mario, throw it in the blender with the original (US) Power Rangers, then sprinkle on a halloween theme, and you get Costume Quest.
This game is great, it plays for both hardcore gamers that enjoy a challenge and unlocking new features, and also plays for more casual gamers that don't have time to unlock every single feature, with a built in unlockables window under settings, just in case your stuck.
and the gameplay itself is great, its like an RTS without all the crappy resource gathering, just conqering planets and massing troops, then buffing those troops with turret spores, bomb trees, or flowers that increase the power of your ships.
I can play this game for hours without boredom, and if i'm ever stuck, that unlockables menu is there to help me out.
Sure, the game has a horrible plot and laughable voice acting, but what game didn't back then? This game succeeds where it matters: gameplay and level design.
