I can't really put my finger on what exactly turned me off from this game. Some of it probably has to do with a fairly uninspired loot system lacking many interesting and meaningful modifiers, and having it reduced to simply red or green numbers to tell you straight up if it was more dps or not. I'm sure the writing did its share to help out, which seemed to think that if it was somewhat self-aware about being terrible it would be less terrible. The companion system was ok, but didn't feel like it really differentiated itself from, say, Torchlight 2. The tower-defense portion was pretty interesting, but felt kind of tacked-on, and like it took up a lot of space for being so ultimately meaningless. The infusion/enchanting system also seemed to have potential, but most of the ones I found didn't seem like they were that useful so I never really bothered with it.

Overall, it was a thoroughly mediocre hack-n-slass. I can't think of any good reason to play it over its competitors. It just kind of exists.
