Coffee Crisis is a fun retro side scrolling beat'em up game with excellent music. This game will remind you of titles such as Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Double Dragon, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, only in this game you get to beat up grannies, you may feel bad, but dont they are badass.

You play as either Nick or Ashley, baristas working at the Black Forge Coffee House, when the evil 'Smurglians' invade earth to steal it's best musicians, Nick and Ashley must fight back with the power of coffee and metal. Both playable characters have a few basic attacks - a punch and a jump kick - as well as a unique attack to that character - Ashley uppercuts the enemy with a coffee pot, and Nick has an Area of Effect spin attack.

You have to be very careful when you attack as enemies usually have a farther range than you. Hint: coming down from above or below onto their side, helps and you will make it further. One of the most interesting additions to this game is the twitch\mixer interactive chat integration. You can link your mixer\twitch account to the game which allows your viewers to vote on what happens to you, viewers can either help you through the game or make it much more difficult. However when I played this was buggy, it would just stop working, not accepting votes from viewers and also there was little explanation as to what each one did, so chat was left confused. It needs to be more clear which are benefits and which are punishments for the player. There is alot of random effects, and these can affect the player, the enemy, or just throw in some nice visual effects. I have heard that the problem with voting could be patched by the developers by the time you read this, the developers are very active.

Coffee crisis also has a minigame between levels, which is a button masher, again I have heard that they are working on this, to make it better.

Coffee Crisis has stages, I made it myself to stage 8 and it only took me about 1 and a half hours, two attempts at completing the game. As you level you will get passwords, these allow you start straight on a specific stage. This game is definitely worth checking out if you're a beat-em-up fan, it felt short but fun and if the developers keep improving it you are definitely getting your monies worth.
