Hotline Miami, on the surface, can seem to be a cheery, upbeat and arcadey game. In a way, it kind of is. But it does so much more while just oozing such incredible style in such a haunting manner that I really can't recommend it enough. I only wish it had lasted longer. 10/10

At it's core, it's a pretty odd game. There's a whole lot to take in, and at the same time there isn't. It's neatly packed into a dense and intruiging package of vague associations, odd situations and emotions. If you've watched Pulp Fiction and enjoyed it, then you'll probably enjoy this too.

That said, this game is pretty short, lasting about 15 minutes. I believe the entirety of Gravity Bone is also packaged with this game, but I don't know. I played through, but I never played through the original, so I have no idea if the lengths are the same.

But that said, after you play through this game, seeing as it's so short, take the pleasure of playing through the developer commentary. It's a lot like TF2's commentary, and to be honest I think that I learned more about game design playing this than I have with nearly any other game. I feel like that alone makes it worth the $5.

Oh, and it crashes occasionally. Don't worry, just reload it. Enjoy!

It's painfully hard at first, and if you're coming from another MOBA, be prepared to be wrecked in ways you have never been wrecked before. That said, it's definitely one of my favorite games now, and I can't wait for it to be out of beta so I can play with the rest of you.

I hate strategy games. Never enjoyed them, they've always been an absolute pain to me to play. That said, I love this game. It has a great art style, the difficulty is perfect, and its fast-paced and frantic enough that you can't just take a nap between waves. It demands your constant attention, and any mistakes in tactics are 90% of the time your fault.

Enemies won't stay on the same path to be mindlessly destroyed. For example, laying all your guns down in one section of the path won't work, because they'll start to swarm and destroy them, or simply walk around them and out of range. Smart thinking has to be employed, and choke points have to be used frequently in order to funnel their large numbers into a managable flow.

That said, my only qualm is the tech tree. Making a bad decision can ruin you, but you don't find it out until later.

Also, friggin' hate armored titans.

One of the best mods out there. I can't praise it enough, and to be honest, it's better than most games for sale out there! The graphics are great, and for me it's on par with TF2 in terms of great gameplay.

Just because it's old doesn't mean it isn't amazing. I've never gotten more satisfaction out of mashing my fist into someone's face.
