Our goal is to create a centralised IRC channel for finding TF2 scrims and for new teams to enter the competitive Australian community. The current channel for people to gather is #ozfortress; however this has deviated from TF2 discussion and is now a general discussion channel with minimum talk about the TF2 scene. It is difficult for new players to get involved, ask questions and find games.

#tf2scrim.au is devoted solely to chat regarding aspects of TF2; updates, maps, pub, pugs, scrims, upcoming matches (both in Australia and overseas) and most importantly competitive game play. The idea is to encourage all teams and new players attempting to get into competitive TF2 to gather in one place so better communication is achieved, which will develop a larger competitive scene.

Aims to achieve:
- Scrims against those they would not consider playing usually,
- Find mercenaries when needed
- Ask questions about things they don’t understand and get a discussion from a variety of players with different experiences
- Easily find information about upcoming matches, tournaments, LANs from all the major scenes.

We do not intend this as any sort of competition to ozfortress. It is a collaboration of players who wish for the competitive TF2 scene to grow in a positive way and therefore to assist players improving and for new members of the competitive TF2 scene to get a good start to their game careers. We also offer a pug service in which the first twelve players in mumble are the ones to play.
