After quite a while now watching this game, I just don't think they're delivering the product they hinted at with their Kickstarter.

A lot was seemingly promised and what I got, even after giving it a lot of time and patience as a fellow developer in the industry, is that there's almost no depth to the game. Normally, for an EA game like this has been, you'd have some pretty substantial content drops, either new features, or expanding previous features content as they verify the feature is stable. But instead, any feature releases haven't change the game at all. You still get to a certain point where you're making resources for no purpose and for anyone that's played a few hours, you know what to do and each attempt to play comes up short quicker and quicker.

A lot of games with this style promise a lot and fall short. I have no feeling of leading humanity to the future, not feeling of "I could play this all day". There's just no substance or depth and no gameplay after like 2-3 hours. Maybe it's changed in the last few months, but last time I played I went "wow it's pretty much the same, no point in playing".

You can't even hope that mods will improve as they're all about nudity or something super minor. Overall, just was a lot of promise with no delivery. I give the benefit of the doubt and in this case, it wasn't earned after a couple of years.

While I really like the game, it does feel like it's "Complete" not in the sense of adding more, but rather just done with development. It very much is a play it for a day kind of game when you need a break from your other games, but it isn't super expansive. Very simple gameplay. I think the concept is really awesome and I love it, but I just feel like the depth of the gameplay isn't there. As you can see, I have 10 hours since buying the game a year ago. There's just not enough gameplay to really feel like it's worth playing for hours on end. Very much a casual game.

As far as the actual execution, the game runs well and haven't really had any issues with it.

Overall, it's fun, but not something you'll play for hours on end.

Great game, definitely takes a lot of time to play. Very fun to play with a friend and work your way up. If you use shattered kingdoms, it's a lot easier. SK is a mod feature. I really like it though :)
