Honestly I didn't even make it 10 minutes. The graphics are somehow super choppy despite the fact that it's pixelated, the script and font are just off, the existence of Remedies in the item shop, renaming all the spells, and FFS it's not crystals but ORBS!

All this did was leave me longing for the classic NES version, and that's what I'll be firing up right now. I'm not a purist and did not come in expecting to not like it, but honestly they already did the ''modernized'' version with the FF Origins remake. I was expecting something more retro, like promised.

Picked this up during the sale on the recommendation of a friend. It didn't sound like my cup of tea at all, and like I predicted, I sucked at it. I decided to play another day, and noticed that I already knew a few dishes by heart and was rapidly improving. It's challenging yet at the same time absolutely something you can get down with practice, even for a klutz like me.

It's like no sim game you've ever played. This is multitasking, button-mashing mayhem in Hell's Kitchen minus Gordon Ramsay. And it is SO. FUN. No matter your general skill level. Get it.

Nobody should be leaving a review until they've unlocked the BBL/Hateful Boyfriend storyline. That is the point where this game becomes something else entirely and you will have your mind blown.

You get lured in thinking it's all fun and games laughing at a ridiculous pigeon dating game, then find yourself boggling at hints that not all is as it seems as you court the different birds. You may even be moved to tears or scared s***less during your very first playthrough if you choose one of a few birds, a sharp wake-up call that this game is something more. By the second or third time you restart the game and court someone else, you begin to have your belief entirely suspended and forget that the characters aren't human. When you unlock BBL, set aside a good 3-4 hours to fully take in the other side of the game. You will not be able to look away.

Genuinely one of my favorite games. More masterfully written and emotive than any story Hollywood has put out lately. 10/10
