While the sequel to this game may run better and have better graphics, Forged Alliance is still the game with the best gameplay.
While not without its faults, (enormous slowdown in long games) this is still one of the best real time strategy games ever made.
Something for purchasers of this to be aware of is that it's a different patch version to the normal physical release as it replaces GPGnet with Steam for the multiplayer component.
I have yet to test LAN play but for online it is not possible to use the Steam version of this game except against other Steam copies.
