I can't believe I never left a review for this game.
It's great. I highly recommend it. I can't wait for the finale!

It's...rough. It can get really boring and exhausting. I'm just trying to finish it so I can say I finished EO1. They should've ported Untold version to be honest. But I want the later EO stuff in Steam so I'm upvoting it I guess. Start with EO3 instead.

I'm supporting this because I want a P3 Remake. But I hope it has all the great things P3 FES. I miss Makoto Yuki being able to wield any weapon and seeing all his fighting styles.

It's kinda weird how the backgrounds look awful. The audio is awful. Otherwise it's still a solid game.

Game is basically a D&D session summarized with charming aesthetics and presentation. It honestly felt like they had a D&D session and made it into a game. It works. I don't know if it's worth the price tag but maybe these small bullet points can help you decide. I suggest playing the demo before the full game though since they add context to characters.

One thing I like is that New Game + keeps everything.

Story-specific stuff:
◆ There's a total of 5 playable characters. One is misgendered for some reason.
◆ Don't expect "Yoko Taro deepness." It's very predictable.
◆ The flip side descriptions are either dark, hilarious or creepy. You unlock them by either repeated encounters, talking to every "clone" of them in all towns you visit, etc. Just remember to go back to towns or NPCs after an event.
◆ The "banter" can be fun. Although the MC / Ash being a random jerk on some innocent choices is weird. Expect things like these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUGi-aTILx4
◆ There are some hard choices (whether or not it actually matters, I haven't had the time to check).
◆ There is no skip cutscene, only mash the confirm key.
◆ You might want to talk to NPCs again after certain events.
◆ The presentation is very fun but slow. If you are one brave/cheeky adventurer, you can plug a speedhack x2 ~ x3 just to make it more tolerable for you.

The gameplay only looks like a card game on surface level but it's more like your typical JRPG. It has the following mechanics:

◆ Global Mana / Energy Pool.
◆ You can only equip 4 skills at once. Characters gain 3 passives max as they level up. The Max Level is 30.
◆ There are dice rolls to determine success of a status effect or for damage multiplier.
◆ Happenstances. They normally contain Random Buffs/Debuffs, Elemental/Status Effects, EXP or Gold Up.
◆ Even if you put a character on reserve, they will still level up. So don't be afraid to mix up your party now and then. Don't be too invested in just one character and try to learn their skillsets to be flexible when the story throws a wrench at you once in a while.
◆ There's an inventory limit (not per item) of 30.
◆ You cannot use your healing spells outside of battle. Inns are always free.

There are also some cute mechanics on the overworld map. Random events happen and here are some versions of them:
◆ Hidden Merchants without any indication that gives you either a sale or rare items.
◆ Stocking up on items and giving it to random events net you a reward while you are exploring.
◆ On specific maps, you get 'traps' or 'calamities' that may or may not give you some rewards for properly tackling them.
◆ You get random treasure maps or eavesdrop on bandits. Those items are usually the best in the game so keep an eye out!

And here are some spoilers I guess:

◆ MC / Ash is all rounder but has the strongest single target heal (+30). He takes a while to get good.
◆ Mar is the party tank but also the slowest. Her ultimate gear is found in the Mausoleum.
◆ Melanie is the mage. Her ultimate weapon is found in the Mausoleum. Her ultimate armor is a treasure around the area.
◆ Ridis is the rogue / bard. Secretly insanely strong once you get her weapon. Has an OK AOE heal (+10).
◆ Bruno is a mix between a buffer and a fighter. Has a good AOE heal (+20).
◆ That 20,000 weapon is legit and easy to obtain. You should have enough money by Chapter 4 (without spending) to 6 (if you bought starter gear) without grinding (just don't escape fights). You also get a ton of cash once you reach the Isle of Blight.
◆ This game is not hard at all. Status Effects are nice in this game especially Freeze. Once you get Zero Elements + Triblade/Deadly Mirage, you pretty much win the game.
◆ Sometimes, you have to get out of a dungeon and find that there's some secrets unlocked. The easiest one to miss is the superboss.
◆ There is no skip cutscene, only mash the confirm key. It gets really annoying when you're trying to get all 4 endings (that I know of) and have a long boss fight in between that. You can fast forward or skip credits though.
◆ If you are a huge fan of the RPG Maker series, MC / Ash having the same skillset as the Actor 1 heroes is hilarious.

That's all! I'll update if I find out more.

Survival Mystery game where people only have 1 week to live in which they grow old rapidly. So they start as kids then go old and then explode and has to be revived through a cloning machine. Great cast of characters.

If that doesn't make you want to play Zanki Zero then I cannot convince you otherwise.

I remember seeing this game as a Japanese only game ages ago and I gave up that it'll ever be in English.

But lo and behold it was released. God bless. A game that did what I always wanted to do. Now I don't have to do it lol.

Has a cast of likable characters. I wish the game is longer and expand more on them. Chapter 6 is great. 10/10 Yashiki and Mashita should just stay together, forever and ever. Can't wait for NG the spiritual sequel.

Normally I'd write an in-depth review why you should get this game, but honestly, I'm not good at making spoiler-free reviews. Just watch Manly's Let's Play and buy the game if you want them to make more of the Spirit Hunter series. However, I am inclined to write this down since this game does have its ups and downs sometimes:

Very Good Chapters:
- Chapter 1
- Chapter 3
- Chapter 5

Best Chapter:
- Chapter 6

I am starving for more contents with this concept and I hope that NG also comes to PC. But at least there is a switch english port coming ...I guess...
