Mass Effect 2 builds greatly on the Mass Effect universe from the first game in this exciting sequel to Mass Effect. The game departs slightly from its RPG roots in that it virtually nixes the inventory system in order to make the game progress faster with more action. However, it does not make short on the storyline, which is absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend finishing Mass Effect before playing Mass Effect 2, although it is not necessary.
