I grew up with DOOM, and the 2016 reimagining was great. Eternal took it even farther for me. I enjoy the game a lot, and although the newly included platforming isn't for me; the overall fast paced action easily erodes the annoying wall climbing.

The worst part of the game by far is the over abundance of tutorials, and tips. Even if you turn them all off in the settings, the loading screen still shows you exactly how to kill some enemies. Even before you've met some, as it depends on the area you load into. It rather spoils a lot for me.

The gunplay is superb, and I've beaten the game three times now. On Ultra Violence when it launched, then on Extra Life mode, and finally on Ultra Nightmare today.
It's been a blast, and the soundtrack is top notch.

Whether you're a DOOM fan, or just like fast paced FPS games where you can get into the rhythm of slaughter; do give this a try.

It sure looks nice, but my goodness does it wreck my machine. My Titan V, even with the latest drivers installed struggles.

Window Mode = 64-72FPS

3440x1440 = 13-16FPS

Seems this is tailored exclusively for RTX, and not DXR ray tracing. Even with plenty of CUDA cores, and Tensor cores, it looks like you really need some RTX cores for this.

Would be interesting to see what performance would be like, if DXR was used instead of proprietary RTX.

It's a nice tech demo.

I guess in the future we can ask if your system can run Quake II again.

Talk about a return to the classics, with some extras on it.

The gameplay is tight, responsive, and the weapons have some great impact as well. Then add in the mini base building, upgrades, and minor character customisation via weapons and armour pieces and you have all the makings for great fun.

It's rare to get get an FPS that has some proper twitch controls, but that have the weapons, enemies and impact to make it all fit.

There are several characters/punks in the game, and you unlock them, along with further base upgrades via Tech you acquire when raiding corporate facilities. Each Punk have their own weapons they specialize in, meaning you can tailor the base to them. Buying specific upgrades that give them bonuses, or you can go for an all round good team.

So far though, it seems the only way to get to buying new Punks or upgrades is via the desert salesman, and I've only encountered him after dying, not much of an issue as when you're on a roll you're on a good role.

I'd happily recommend the game to any FPS fan that likes a good twitch shooter and some retro graphics.

What a gem of a little game. It hits all the right notes for a fun adventure game.

Amazing pixel art, and even better sound and music directly. It really brings the world to life, and ambient sounds especially. Nothing like hearing a blood crazed murdering goat breathing heavily in the dark before even getting close to it.

So what's the adventure like? Rather cliché at first, and then things take a horrible turn for the worst. This could all have been avoided if there was no underage drinking. Damnit Hans you silly little boy!

After the funky little set up, things go horribly wrong for Hans; only to get a glimmer of hope in the form of a riddle that would change his life for all time. Although can you manage it? You're a little ten year old dolt, wondering around a seemingly haunted castle trying to solve a riddle, while almost everything can kill you. Is it fun though? Oh most certainly, I couldn't put this game down, and I've been playing since pre-release.

The the game isn't too challenging with puzzles, but the dialogue, explorations, art, music, and the world is just so enthralling. Trying to keep this silly would be count child alive is a joy, and the people and things he runs into even more so.

The save system is a little odd though, and it forces you to strictly manage the coins you find. As you leave the main game area there is a fountain with a Raven. Toss in a single gold coin and he saves your soul; which is saving the game at that point for you. You do need gold for food, candles, and keys though; so manage it all wisely.

Play your cards right and there's a Donkeycorn though; which if you feed it apples will poop out some gold coins for you. Even food needs to be used sparingly though. Hans is very weak, he's a child, and almost everything can hurt the little chap. So you need food to heal up.

Candle on the other hand are even more essential; you need light. Without it all manner of nasties can, and will sneak up on you and kill you. So you need to not only walk around with one, but you need them to light brazers and place them around dark parts of the castle so as to make sure things aren't hiding in the shadows later, or following you.

The gameplay mechanics are simple enough, but fantastically executed, and really adds to the game.

It's a great little adventure so far, and I really would recommend it to pixel art adventure fans.

A little addictive clicker that sucks you in with money. Make as much as possible on your farm, expand it and slap away those nasty critters.

There is no depth to the game, but then again it is a clicker :P If it's you're cup of tea enjoy, if you want more than left clicking keep well away.

What a fantastic addition to the Tomb Raider saga.

The scenery is beautiful, the dialogue and cutscenes gripping, and the story so far just makes you want to delve in deeper and deeper.
The gameplay mechanics are almost an exact copy from the reboot, but that's hardly a bad thing. They do expand on it more, since you can craft even more items, weapons, and outfits. There are also caches of ancient coins hidden through the game, which can be exchanged for better weapons and gear here and there.

Let's not forget the option diversion of extra challenges where you do some proper tomb raiding after figuring out the puzzles involved. Add in some side missions given by NPCs and there's plenty to do besides the main storyline. The same NPCs can also offer new missions later on, so it's worth checking in on them from time to time.

Thank goodness then, that the game has a quick travel system;which is accessible via campfires. The campfires are also where you craft, and upgrade your items; along with listening to Lara's thoughts, and that of her father.

Combat is a pleasure, and you can opt for a guns blazing approach, or a stealthier system where you also gain more experience. As such stealth is somewhat the preferable playstyle, but you can mix them rather well.

A nice addition of it, is the ability to now craft some weapons on the fly. You can make arrows, and even some homemade bombs which can be used from picking up cans during fight scenes, or even bottles of alcohol to make molotov cocktails.

When it comes to graphics settings the game has a plethora of them, everything from NVIDIA Gameworks' features such as HBAO+, to AMD's TressFX implementation Pure Hair. Both of which adds to the amazing visuals of the game.

Pure Hair; unlike TressFX 1.0 used in the 2013 version does not however knock off 28% of your performance. Instead the difference between Off, On, and Very High is a little 2-4 frames per second. Not only does it barely affect performance, but it looks absolutely lovely. Even some of the enemies look like they shampoo and condition now.
If only it also accumulated blood, mud, and other muck. At least it does get wet, and also gather snow.

After having just played with everything possible maxed bar FXAA instead of SSAA at 1440p. I can honestly say the game looks breathtaking, and runs rather well. SLI scaling still needs work, and the lowest fps I've seen was 48 for a split second. The rest ranged from 76 average in the snow areas, to 90+ in the Temple ruins. Although there are some random drops to mid 60's at time for no apparent reason. I think that might be the SLI scaling bungling up.

I really enjoyed the 2013 Reboot and played it on a Mac Pro no less. Rise so far is fantastic, and is certainly action packed right from the start. I would heartily recommend it to any Tomb Raider fan.

Talk about simple madness and fun! I really like the game.

Filled with absolutely cringey and hilarious humour you are one of four zombie vikings sent on a quest to get Odin's eye.
The game is certainly made for multiplayer in similar fashion to that of Castle Crashers, but even alone it is still wonderful. Lots of voice acting, cut scenes and humor to blend it all together. Along with lots and lots of slaughter, which you clearly can't have without the accompanying laughter.

Hedgy is my favourite hero, half man half porcupine zombie; and a being of few words.

The art style is simply great, everything is 2D to the extreme and suits the game rather well. During combat or cutscenes you'll notice that when a character turns they are simply a thin line when looked on from the side. It's a little detail I really appreciate.

Combat mechanics are very simple. Once again every smash-em up like. Fast weak attacks, jump, block/roll and a special. Each character does play very differently. Everything from small and fast, to slow and very powerful.
Also if you play single player you get Piggy to help you on your journey. He can give you a boost into the air to do a devastating dive bomb attack; or he can carrying a cannon on his back.
He's also small enough to be used as a projectile himself. Simply pick him up and charge up a throw attack. This actually combos rather well with his cannon barrage. Slap him to start the cannon and then pick him up and run around blowing things up.

Story wise, the game is very witty. Although if you don't like american humor and mannerisms you won't like the game too much. Even so I think they do suit the game, and the detail and amount of voice acting really adds to the game. Even some simple enemies are voiced over, and can have a go at you during combat.
Some of it, well, a lot is also downright cringey. This is either a positive, or negative depending on who you are and what you like.

The game wouldn't be complete without some loot though. You are vikings after all; so while you smash everything in sight collect as many coins as you can. These can be used to buy new weapons you've unlocked and runes which add anything from extra health to movement speed.

Be warned though, the average weapon is rather expensive, so if you do get the chance try and do some side quests. I helped a certain fluffy monarch and got a cat on a stick as a weapon. It's a great weapon.

All in all, Zombie Vikings is simply a blast and I would heartily recommend it to any fans of the genre that like silly games and some cringey dialogue.

If you're a fan of Warhammer Fantasy and L4D, you're going to have an absolute blast with Vermintide.

Several unique characters, several levels that connect via a story of invasion, driving them back and then taking the fight to them.

My favourite character by far is the Bright Wizard, controlling the Winds of Magic and specialising in Fire. So you can blast and blow up enemies with powerful fire spells, or slash them down with your back up sword.
You do need to be careful though, as using magic too long can result in you exploding from the build up of power. As such you need you to frequently exhaust the excess heat. Although this can result in you taking quite a bit of damage as well.

I suppose it serves to balance out the Bright Wizard's awesome damage capabilities, and forcing the player to control and manage it more. It's still very fun, and adds quite a bit.

I don't have much experience with the other classes much; although the Pistol and rapier wielding Witch Hunter is also a lot of fun as a medium and close range fighter.

Story and Lobby wise everything starts and ends in the Tavern, and there's even a mission to protect that. In there you have access to different missions, levels of difficulty, the Forge, and Inventory.

Each character has unique items they can use, although through the forge these can be combined to get random new ones, or scrapped for upgrade materials. So if you're lucky on the end of a mission through the dice roll ( which is based on mission performance ) or crafted you can upgrade items to unlock their extra bonuses; if they have any.

The inventory system is rather self explanatory, you can change items based on their attributes and looks which results in some minor character customisation.

In regards to missions, they're fairly linear, with some off shoots which leads to extra mini areas and little treasures, and supplies.

Graphics and performance wise the game does very well. Although there are still some off frame drops here and there, even without a swarm of enemies. Even so it's not much of an issue, although if you have a Midranged or lower graphics card I wouldn't recommend pushing the settings to extreme. I'm sure these will be fixed very soon though.

The main enemy are of course the Skaven, and it wouldn't be like them if there weren't swarms and swarms of them during certain parts.
It's good then that the vast majority of them are rather dumb, badly armed and weak. Although if you do happen to run into a unique one such as a Commander, or Gunner you'll need some well placed Headshots to make short work of them. Otherwise you're in for a small world of hurt.

Sadly unlike L4D, other players cannot play the unique Skaven units at this time. They probably might never, considering that they're still very inferior to main Human characters. Sorry Skaven fans.

All in All it's a blast, and even more fun with three other friends. I would gladly recommend it as one of the great Warhammer Fantasy games in quite some time.

Disclosure: I received an early Beta Copy

Simply put, I love the game. In essence for me it's Freelancer reborn, except with capital ships.

The gameplay is fantastic, although I would strongly recommend a controller. Both the 360 one, and the Steam Controller work brilliantly with the game.

One thing that separates the game from freelancer is the capital ships, and that you use Broadsides for your primary weapons. As such you need to get your sides facing the enemies.
Fear not though, it's still super intense, and you have plenty of other weaponry. Ranging from Secondary fire ones such as EMP Waves, Flak cannons and plenty of turrets.
Turrets are mostly A.I controlled, although you can set priorities for each and every one of them. Such as Fire at Any Craft, Target, Locked Targets only, or even Fighters only.

This means that you can focus all fire on a single enemy, or you can handle the capital ships while your turrets deal with the swarms of enemy fighter and gunships.

It's rather odd at first, but after a while it becomes extremely satisfying. To the point of almost feeling like you're in Battlestar Galactica fending off literal swarms of enemies.

Sadly, you're unable to be a carrier and have your own fighters, although it's not too much of an issue.

The story is very interesting, and it certainly is engaging. Although some story missions have very high requirements and as such you Have to go do other missions to get a better ship and equipment.

This is no issue at all, and extremely fun. You can do a variety of missions, or you can just do pirate bounty hunting. Doing missions however increases or decreases your reputation with various factions. This in turn unlocking newer ship hulls, and equipment.

You're also able to join some guilds, such as the Mercenaries or Merchants which give extra missions and other unique ship hulls.

I would strongly encourage you to find one you like.

Trading is not the most complex of systems, but very manageable, and slightly fun. I've never been much of a trader but each system and station has various prices and requirements. An impoverished station will pay a lot more for food and water than a well set up military one. While some might accept some contraband pirate items; ranging from Narco Cola, to Living Organs.

Ships can also be scanned so be careful carrying contraband, the Militia will scan you and will hail you to explain yourself. If you simply ignore their Hails they will go hostile and attack you. If you want to play with those items, make sure to get a Smuggler's Cargohold; They can't be scanned ;)

Graphics and performance wise the game does extremely well. It's no Star Citizen, but it looks great and runs even better. Now I might have an overkill machine with Two GTX 980Ti's, but playing at 4K with DSR I was topping out at 144FPS which is my monitor's cap, and at worst getting 80fps.
The only slight complaint I have is little lag spikes when phasing in and out of a station. Although this is most likely an engine issue that'll soon be fixed for textures loading in and out.

As for graphical options the game as plenty and they're all adjusted with through the game launcher. It also has 3 graphics APIs to choose from. DirectX 9, DirectX 11 and even OpenGL if you fancy using that.

I unfortunately only have experience running the game in DX11, but it's done exceptionally well.

The last thing I want to mention is the brilliant soundtrack. It's very similar to Borderlands, and I feel it suits the game very well. Personally it gives me a Borderlands and Cowboy Bebop feel to the game and I really enjoy having it on.

In the game launcher however you can also create some custom music options so you can expand it all if you so desire.

All in all, I simply love the game. I've 40 hours into it, and I've still not finished the main story because I've been having so much fun with everything else. If you enjoyed Freelancer, I would really recommend the game; and for others it's simply a great mini sandbox open Space Action Sim with capital ships.

A fantastically fun, yet horrifically difficult game.

In it you fly a little mech suit, take out alien defence systems, and then their central AI and core to disable the ship for salvage. Things ramp up extremely quickly though, so either you run over time trying to take things out; or you run out of money by going over budget. It all results in losing.

I have no idea how you'd finish this game quickly. It takes practice, lots of it. Good thing it's brilliantly fun, and the upgrades and new weapons allow for many new types of gameplay.

I would heartily recommend this for any fast action based rogue-like fan
