Better than Minecraft? You can debate that, but I simply find that Terraria improves in areas the other doesn't even bother to attempt. Item crafting and upgrading serves a purpose, as there are numerous dangerous enemies and boss battles to be had while progressing through the depths of your 2D world. The music is quite charming, and it recently received quite a massive content update that added new bosses, loot, and an impressive new lighting system. A bargain, considering the amount of stuff you get.

It's so easy to get lost in Civilization V. I'm not a hardcore fan of the series, so any 'downgrades' from previous titles are completely over my head, but the diplomacy screens and hexagonal tiles were great. I love the voice acting, and especially the in-game encyclopedia. If you want a little learning and culture while playing a wonderful board game, give it a shot.

Character customization is incredible, the car handling is fluid, arcade joy, and the writing is surprisingly funny. I'm surprised that I'm enjoying the game as much as I am, but I guess a little insanity is exactly what I needed after a year of difficult and serious games.
