I'm not sure how to rate this game. For me, personally, it would be probably NO, but in general, game is good.

So, my problem is that the game is too slow... In 10 hours I have a feeling that I accomplished nothing (in comparison to other games of the same genre) and it bothers me, because I don't have as much time to play games as I used to :(

Other problem is mining which I find dull and ugly.

But in general, game looks beautiful and mostly works nice and for those who like the genre and have (much) more time than me, I can really recommend it. So, I decided to go for YES. :)

I hesitated to buy this game for some time... I read some awesome reviews, watched plays, but never had a feeling that I'll really like it...

And I was wrong... It's a great game... I really recommend it! :)

The most important thing I need to say, before anything is that I am generally not a big fan of Dark Souls. It is a nice game, but too hard core for me... Also, I have played a game for about 2 hours, before quitting.

So, Lords of the Fallen... It is definitely heavily influenced by Dark Souls (in terms of Gameplay) so some comparisons are inevitable. The game looks really nice, atmosphere is great and what I liked much more here than in DS series is that story is more aproachable.
Music and sounds are nice, but voice acting is hit and miss, but nothing horrific.

So, the thing I really didn't like here is probably the most important part of this type of game, and that is combat. Dark Souls is hard, really, really hard, and it was the main reason I never actually ended up playing it to the end, but it was a fair game. You need time to learn how to fight! Here, situation is different, the game is still really hard, but I don't feel it's fair: Hitboxes are strange, few times I missed enemy I was sure I was going to hit, but many times enemy would hit me, although my character was half a metre away from the his weapon. Other than that, my character is locked in animation when I go for a hit or dodge, but enemy characters easily turn around in their animations... These things are both unrealistic looking, and totally unfair towards a player.

Other than that the game looked and felt nice, but this thing is too important to ignore, so I need to leave a thumbs down...

So, I decided to give this game a little bit of time, before reviewing...

It feels like a massive grind (and I hate grinding in games), and it is extremelly fun and addictive. And it feels wrong... But good xD

Stardew Valley is a beautifully designed game, set in... Believe it or not Stardew valley. You are the grandchild of a former resident, and when you become fed up of robotic life forced upon you by capitalists, you decide to become a farmer in a peaceful town.

Here, you can farm, breed animals, forage wild plants, fish, mine, etc... There are a lot of things to do, and day is short, and energy low... Anyway, you sell those things, upgrade your farm, etc. So, in some way, you become your own capitalist.

Anyway, game is really beautiful, although grindy, there is always something different to do, so you'll hardly get bored in doing all that. Town people are great and lively, so you'll feel like part of the community.

Only minus is a somewhat buggy controller controls xD and absence of any multiplayer options. But this is really, really great game!

10/10

You can read my Romopolis review here.

I know that Townopolis is older game, but I played Romopolis first, so I'll write from that point of view.

Townopolis is basically the same game as Romopolis, with different skin, placed in modern towns, so I won't go into detail about the game; all that you can read in my Romopolis review.

I'll just enter a few of the differences, that'll make sense to you only if you already played Romopolis xD

  • 2 of the building resources (wood and stone) are here represented with one resource Materials. This makes the resources easier to follow.
  • Normal housing adds happiness to other normal housing around it.
  • Some buildings and all apartments subtract happiness from normal housing.
  • Building inspection won't automatically disable building collapsing, but will enable you to build additional upgrade that will disable it for each building separately. Upgrade disappears if additional upgrade is built. This is a cause of great frustration in this game xD
  • Other buildings usually have their own profit based on current population.

I hope I remembered everything.

Anyway, if you liked Romopolis, you will like this also (and vice-versa). If you didn't there is pretty much nothing different.

First of all, Romopolis is not a city management game.

Romopolis is mostly a puzzle game with a theme of city management, where you have a limited time and building areas to finish all given tasks. Every level also has a medal time (if you finish before it runs out, you also get a medal), and a Trophy task (optional task that gives you Trophy if you finish it).

As for the gameplay; you have 4 resources Denarii, Wood, Stone and Workers. Denarii is used to buy blueprints and other resources and is collected automatically via taxes from built houses. Workers are a resource that is not spent, but used during construction.
Tasks include number of residents, upgrades to houses, specific level of happiness (each house needs some services and increases happiness with adjacent parks), sum of Denarii, etc...

So, Romopolis is a nice puzzle game with lovely theme. And if you know what you're looking for in it, you are in for some enjoyment...

7.5/10 Recommended :)

You can see my review for the first game here:
http://steamcommunity.com/id/lordbalder/recommended/259550

Other than that, it is basically the same game, with a little upgraded graphics, but is the same mechanically... Story is actually cheesier than the first one, because of the very bad love story and ending...

Anyway, as with the first part; 6/10 Recommended, but not for everyone...

Hero of the Kingdom is something new for me... It is, technically a very simple adventure game with hidden object ideas, dressed up as RPG, with very cheesy fantasy RPG story.

You "walk" through different screens, finding hidden things and doing quests for which you usually just need to click on something, you earn money to buy stuff needed to complete other quests. There is neither luck nor skill involved, you just click through things in some order, uncovering a story in a nicely drawn world.

If you have a few hours of your time to kill, and you really don't want to use your brain at all; It is a nice little adventure game that looks nice and in the end, makes you feel nice... At least for finishing all the achievements... :)

6/10 Recommended, but not for everyone...

Rocket League is really fun multiplayer game that is hard to compare to anything.

It is a car-football (or basketball) game, that is at the same time extremely rewarding (when you do something right) or frustrating (when you cannot hit the ball), but it is always interesting, fast paced and fun.

Graphics and sounds are fine, interface is nice and clear, gameplay is great and full of different gaming modes (classic football, something like basketball, many funky stadiums, different number of players, etc...)

Another big positive for a game is that it can be played in short sessions, and that is very important for me.

Absolutely recommended!
