More of 10000000. If that so much as catches your interest, stop hesitating and buy this stupid thing already.

This game has a lot of potential and is the first survival game I've encountered that charts temperature and wind chill. That said, it does need some work.

I've found that in the sandbox mode (all that's available right now), there really isn't much to do. Finding water is extremely easy since you effectively have infinite fire materials and infinite snow, and food is generally not hard to come across either. Once you have those two things taken care of, there's no real impetus to go outside except to find more. Crafting is very limited so you can stockpile but you can't really "build" anything, and interiors are separate from exteriors anyway so once you duck into a house - any house - you're totally safe. I think the higher-end tools are far too rare. Can openers feel just about right, prybars are less common than they ought to be, but guns, knives and hatchets are as rare as unicorns. It doesn't make sense to me that I can go into a lumber camp and not find a single hatchet, or a fishing camp and not find a knife. I haven't found a way to make my own tools so their availability seems purely based on luck.

Which brings me to the biggest problem. This is a game that strives for realism, but your greatest foe is not the cold. It's wolves. Wolves that act nothing like wolves. They're hyper-aggressive loners that will bark and snarl at you as they come to eat your face. That is not a thing wolves do. Mature wolves do not bark; that's something humans selected for during the domestication process. They also only snarl as a threat. If they're coming at you as an act of predation, they're probably not going to warn you that they're coming.

That aside, the game is artistically very impressive with a beautiful watercolor effect, and the howling of the wind is executed perfectly. It would be nice to get some more snow effects in there, or even just an approximation (maybe add a tinkling sound to the wind to simulate blown snow?).

I have high hopes for this game and am excited to see how it develops.

It's rough, to be sure, but for an alpha it's solid and the groundwork is definitely there.

These guys wear their Ace Combat influence on their sleeve, which is great seeing as Project Aces gave up on that when the PS2 went out of fashion. Even in its alpha state, this is the best Ace Combat-style (which is to say, arcadey flight sim) game on Steam.

No, H.A.W.X., I haven't forgotten about you. You either, Assault Horizon. Both of you, go to your rooms. You're being schooled by an indie, probably working with a total budget equal to what you spend on coffee.

I know it looks like I adore this game and have been playing it all weekend, but that's only because it has its own little launcher (not uPlay) that likes to hide in my task bar where I forget about it and as far as Steam's concerned, that's time in-game.

Had I paid $20 for this, I'd think of it as a competent but bog-standard multiplayer online FPS in the same vein as all the other CoD-alikes we've seen over the years. Except it's not $20. It's an F2P with a $99 pack that doesn't even get you everything in the game. I'm not against the F2P model on principle (I had a lot of fun with Tribes, for instance) but only when the game does something interesting. Ghost Recon: Phantoms is fine. It's just "fine." Though between the abuse of the franchise name and the excessively expensive content packs, I can't help but feel just the slightest bit offended.

I agree with Rock, Paper, Shotgun's conclusion that this feels like a PC port from 2007. It's much better than the original port and it's nice and stable, but the controls are still clunky enough to give you some "not quite there yet" nostalgia.

For instance, if you want to quit the game you need to go to the main menu but there's no option to do so. Instead there's a "reset game" option, which literally reloads the game and brings you to the main menu as though you'd hit a vestigial reset button. You can play it with a mouse and keyboard but it feels awkward and clumsy, and there's enough crosshair jittering that the weapon stocks are still a worthwhile investment (which was not the case in the Wii version). After playing with M+K for a while I switched to my X360 controller, which I found to be much more comfortable.

As for the graphics, well, it's a game from 2004. They can toss on some filters and post-processing and slap in some higher res textures but there's only so much they can do. This game is not look as good as Resident Evil 6. Or 5. Or Relevations. It looks OK for what it is, which is a decent version of a great game. If that's what you're looking for and you can forgive a few blemishes, give this one a shot.

Loadout oozes quality from each any every of its many, many barrels. The concept is brilliant and well executed, the art style is unique and charming with a close attention to detail (some of which can be turned off in options), and the play modes are interesting and well-considered.

Unfortunately it is at its core a Free To Play, and so much of what makes it great is locked behind premium currency, or "research," or unnecessarily high price tags that would be so much easier to stomach if you'd just purchase a nice (and temporary) XP/money doubler.

I think it's worth a shot (tee hee) for any FPS fan, but whether or not you stick with it is going to depend on how tolerant you are when it comes to F2P monetization nonsense. As for me, this is definitely one of those F2Ps where I wish they'd just let me pay about $25 and get a normal, well-balanced, complete experience.

It's like Super Smash Bros. except it's on PC and there are customizable robots. If you need to know more than that there's probably something really wrong with you!

It's good but it's short. I completed my first playthrough in just over 4 hours and I took my time to look around. It's a lot of fun to chop stuff up with the sword and isn't quite as convoluted as your typical Metal Gear game, even though it does have some insane moments, strained philosophy, and more gravel than a rock quarry.

A lot of people say co-op is the way to play this game, but I've been having a lot of fun with it solo. It's very deep and engaging, and once you've put some time into it it'll get its "one more run" hooks into you deep. The problem is it doesn't put its best foot forward and it doesn't really teach you what to look for. The starting class, the Commando, is straight forward but his dodge ability takes a lot of time to really master. The second class, the Enforcer, is great for multiplayer but a little too slow and plodding for solo. I've found that the most interesting classes unlock through random event spawns in the later levels, but they're either out of the way or blend with the rest of the scenery so that you need to be right on top of them to get the button prompt and realize they're actually gameplay elements.

If you want to have fun solo with this game, my recommendation is that you set it to easy, unlock all of the classes, and then play it on normal.
