In truth, though, Skyrim is quite simply the most engrossing, breathtaking game that has ever been written. Take a couple of weeks off, make arrangements with the pizza delivery joint, buy a lot of bottled water or whatever it is you drink and leave a moutain of dry food somewhere for your pets, then sit down to play.

During my first encounter with a Dragon, I was actually physically scared. IN typical Bethesda fashion, they have put a great deal of attention into movement. The spiders scare the crap out of arachnaphobics with their notoriously creepy fashion of walking, the blind move their heads in that oddly undirected fashion and the Dragons make the fast, targetted bodyswings of pure rage that evoke an immediate jolt of adrenaline and frankly, a little cowering in my seat.

Also vikings! BUY IT!

Not the best graphically, but the gameplay is open, pretty varied and oddly engrossing. Lacks any attempt at an overarching story though.

A fast-paced, fun, frenetic shooter. The coop team play is pretty damn good too and the soundtrack is awesome.
