I enjoy creating content more than I enjoy consuming it. These days, you are more likely to find me working in SolidWorks or XNA than playing a game or watching a TV show. That being said, I still enjoy a game of Civ or Battlefield every now and again.
Recently, most of my consumption has been of books. The last few books I've read are Snow Crash, Moneyball, and Black Swan, which should give you a good idea of what my reading preferences are; it's mostly non-fiction and speculative fiction.

OH NO! HE'S GONNA DUNK US IN HIS EVIL HETERODYNE COFFEE!
I bought this game a week ago, and in that week's time, I managed to clock more than 40 hours. Nearly every waking moment that I wasn't at work was spent playing this game. That's kind of scary, and I think I'm going to uninstall this and not touch it for a long time, but that's in part because I think I've sort of exhasted most of what the game has to offer me at this point. Although the hex tiles are a HUGE improvement over previous games, compared to Civ 4, it feels like less of a strategy game and more of a tactics game, and there are other games that do tactics better than Civ 5.
In terms of performance, I've been playing on a Sandy Bridge i3 with integrated graphics, and the game has been pretty smooth when using tactical view (replaces all tiles/units with 2D icons), which is how I have been playing the game for the past 20 hours, but running the game in "normal mode" makes it run like molasses for me, even when playing smaller games with 6 civilizations.
Fair warning: this game is incredibly buggy and you will need to install unofficial patches to get it running stably under Windows 7.
The piece of advice I see given to new players most often is that you should not play as a Nosferatu or Malkavian during your first playthrough. In the former's case, you are not allowed to be seen by (let alone interact with) human NPCs, turning the game into one of stealth, and in the latter's case, you are literally insane. There is literally an entire game's worth of dialog written exclusively for Malkavian players.
This speaks volumes about the game, I feel. The game can play COMPLETELY different depending on your character and the style of play you choose. Because exp is awarded for completing missions, so it doesn't matter whether you progress through persuasion, stealth, or bashing someone's head in. Nobody plays this game just once.
tl;dr it's deus ex with vampires
This game is well worth the $10. It's my favorite stealth game largely because it offers you a HUGE amount of freedom with regard to how you carry out missions. It has fantastic replay value because of this, and the game is structured such that you can replay any of the missions at any time.
