Once you can get through the first few crappy hours of tutorials and stuttering graphics in Boston early on, this game is really cool. The assassins vs. templars in Colonial America is an awesome concept and the gameplay and storyline have definitely had their research done. However, aside from the fact that it is a very bad port from console, I liked everything but the alien stuff. Honestly, I just wish they would cut out Desmond entirely and stick to the historical stuff. I always found myself saying "Damn not this again" when the world started breaking down in the animus and I was rudely shoved back into the pointless drudgery that is the present. Just the history stuff: 9/10. With the aliens and shit: 7/10.

This game is intense. The gameplay mechanics are good, the fact that it is an open world first person shooter is awesome, the graphics are good, and even though the story can get a bit... dark, at times, it is an awesome game and I venture to say my favorite steam game to date.
