Developers went above and beyond the call of duty with this remaster. Great job Nightdive Studios! Probably the best remaster ever made.

I wish I played it back in the day, but even without nostalgia this was a very fun game to the point that I cleared it 100% (except for one achievement).

The newly added Horror difficulty needs some balancing, but I'm into masochistic game design so it worked out in the end. It could've been more enjoyable if they tweaked some of the enemies.

Also, I played a good chunk of it on Steam Deck - it runs perfectly. But if you plan to play this game on 2 different devices - be warned. For some reason when you unlock secrets - they unlock and save for the device you unlocked them on. I suspect it is because Steam Cloud doesn't transfer the file that has the game settings saved on it, and that's where the unlocked Secrets are triggered and written to. So you might accidentally softlock yourself out of one achievement. There probably is a way to reset the secrets with a console command, but I got lucky to notice this early on so it wasn't a problem for me.

Either way great game!

I've enjoyed this game way more than I expected! I remember that initially on launch there were some rough reviews, but it's great to see that developers kept adding to the game and it seems like they've managed to create the definitive Impressions Games-style city builder.

The tutorials could've been a bit expanded, I've been confused by a couple of mechanics. But after checking two 10 minute videos on youtube I got the hang of things.

I love the economical and logistical tightrope you need to walk in order to grow and expand your city, with challenges (like trading, diseases, fire, gods) being thrown at you. I wish more city builders were as reactive to your choices as this game.

Warfare is another recent addition to the game. I was a little intimidated by starting a campaign with warfare goals. It didn't have a dedicated tutorial, but it was quite easy to figure out. It's definitely not what you expect it to be, however it is an interesting additional system on top of other things that you need to manage when building your city.

It's not mandatory to the game, you can turn warfare off it you want, but it's adds an interesting challenge to the mix. I've yet to go in-depth with it, but first impressions are pretty positive.

Either way it's a great game! Great job devs for sticking to your vision and listening to the community where it was appropriate.

Update: After finishing the final mission, I can say that I've loved it! The educational part of it was also amazing and fun to read, especially the one after the final mission.

I would say that warfare missions are way harder than regular ones. But if you learn to optimize your city (there are some great Steam guides) you'll manage just fine.

The difficulty scales gradually throughout campagin, with the later levels being the most challenging, and it was very satisfying to complete those, even though it took me up to 2 days to work through them.

Even though this game had some rough patches in terms of how publisher is treating it - it is the definitive Hitman game! And with the new rougelike mode on its way - it's going to be even better.

I played this maybe 10 years ago when the first demo got released and was putting it off for years until it comes out of early access but decided to give it a shot this year.
I was very surprised by how much depth and content this game has. I really hope they add some kind of ending goal for people to strive towards, but even without it - it's a fantastic game that developers keep pouring their hearts in. Definitely worth checking it out!

Ever since the disappointment that Gothic 3 was, I had a dream to experience something that would captivate me like G1 or G2 did. And while many good RPG games came and went throughout the years - nothing quite hit the mark.

Only recently I've realized that one of the bigger pros of original 2 games was its engine. The combat, UI, low poly graphics, overall feel of the game still remain unique and fundamental parts of the experience. And the omnipresent jank only added to the charm and dangerous atmosphere.

However, those elements are definitely an acquired taste, and might turn away more casual RPG gamers. Which meant that G1 and G2 were lighting in a bottle, a product of its time, and we'd never experience anything quite like it.

Until ‘The Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos’ came along.

I’m still early into the game, but I fell in love from the first second of it. And already I feel that my dream to experience a true Gothic game for the first time came true. I wanted to thank the developers for putting their time into the mod, I can’t imagine the titanic dedication that went into.

Everything in this game radiates of love and respect to G1 and G2. Even the soundtrack, while still remaining original – hits the notes from the music of the original games.

I really hope this mod starts a trend in the industry for similar RPG games, and even gets added as an official prequel to the series. It’s definitely part of my headcanon. THQ Nordic needs to make a deal with The Chronicles Of Myrtana Team for future projects, and provide them with funding and the original engine with the ability to upgrade/modernize it in any way they want.

Thank you ‘The Chronicles Of Myrtana Team’! You’ve created something I never thought I’d experience ever again.

Update: This was one of the best RPGs I have ever played. I still can't believe this game exists. Thank you developers!!! <3

I never imagined a racing game can be so addictive! Huge fan of the series ever since it came out on Steam.
