Games recommended by Davie, King of Explodia _

A brilliant follow-up to Fallout 3. Obsidian's signature impressive writing is quite noticeable here, especially when it comes to the half-dozen companions you meet, each of whom are wonderfully characterized with loads of dialogue and several quests related to them. Survival and an expanded crafting system go a long way towards making you feel like a badass just for living through another day in the wasteland, and the fact that each faction tracks your actions leads to much more interesting moral choices.

Really the only downside I can think of is that a lot of the new content feels visually out of place. Many of Obsidian's models are oddly low-detail and poorly rendered, and several of the new items are just facsimiles of real-world weapons and equipment, maintaining none of the previous games' retrofuturistic, alternate universe feel.

Overall though, the game is a massive improvement over its predecessors ( yes, all of them). Definitely worth it for any CRPG fan.

An absolutely brilliant open-world action game in which the laws of physics are thrown out the window and insane stunts occur with impressive regularity. The bozarre story and impressivley bad voice acting leave something to be desired, but combined with the game's ludicrous action the whole thing feels like an 80s action movie, which is kind of charming.

Of course, you can also just ignore the story altogether and go explore an absolutely massive island, driving motorcycles off cliffs while shooting at planes in the sky above you, tying an enemy jeep to the ground at 80mph and watching it flip over and smash into a tree, or discovering secret bases in the mountains and coming up with perpetually more elaborate ways to blow it up.

If you're a Grand Theft Auto or Saints Row fan, this is a must buy, because it takes all the reckless driving, huge world, and unecessarily large explosions to a whole new level.

Really all the military FPS you'll ever need. A large variety of reasonably-balanced weapons, massive maps, vehicles that require skill and are incredibly fun to use, and graphics that even today look pretty good. The only thing that's missing is a singleplayer story, but as a multiplayer shooter it's very hard to beat.
