If you enjoy games like call of duty, but you're tired of all the serious gung ho oscar mike bullshit time and time again then this game is for you. It's fast paced with a ton of little quirks to mix it up and make it exciting. you can glide, grapple, rollerskate, and spring boot all over the place to make traversal much easier and exciting on top of the usual weapon customization business you'll find in your modern military shooter of today. Much yang has been given to this game due to its extensive DLC list. Understandable, but to be frank all of the stuff on that list can be earned in game by gaining XP. There is nothing you can purchase that you can't unlock without spending another dime.
If you're at all interested in racing sim's, then this will be right up your alley. As a dude who'se always hated racing sims, and never been particularly fond of racing games outside of mario kart, Dirt 3 was an incredibly pleasant surprise. The relazing soundtrack in tandem with the punishing, yet rewarding difficulty and the gorgeous scenery to race through make Dirt 3 not only a fun ralley racing experience, but a wonder to take in aesthetically. Throw in Gymkhana and you've got yourself a crazy time. Racing with all assists off, from the cockpit, and damage to full is a truly satisfying experience, especially when you cross the finish in first in spite of missing wheels.
Incredible sense of speed and gorgeous weather effects help this game to put you on the edge of your seat from the moment a race starts, until you're either left in a thousand smoldering pieces of metal on the highway, or cruising passed the finish line. All the cars handle specifically to themselves and feel just right in an arcady kind of way. A truly fantastic racer with a nice mix of cat and mouse when cops come into play.
