Yes, I'm a complete Castlevania fiend. That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy games from other series, though. I tend to prefer retro games, but I play a lot of newer games, as well.

Visit Castlevania's profileI can't recommend this game enough. I'd suggest that new players *not* purchase the Wrath of the Lamb expansion right away, though, as it introduces some pretty nasty new enemies that significantly increase the game's difficulty. Still, I seriously recommend picking up the DLC at some point, as this game and its DLC are such an incredible value. There's so much variety to the power-ups, and everything's arranged and distributed procedurally. Very cool.
Where should I start?
You'll see an Unreal logo (along with about ten other splash screens) whenever the game starts. Why is Unreal Engine being used to emulate 2D fighting games? Whose bright idea was this?
Anyway, it took me a while to even get past the title screen. Why? Because my keyboard didn't seem to be working. Why? Because Games for Windows LIVE is a heap of trash and wasn't loading properly. So, I uninstalled the version of GFWL that came with MKK and installed the most current version from Microsoft's Web site.
After all of that, it turns out that the game completely screws up the default controller mappings on my Logitech F710 wireless controller. Other games detect it as an Xbox 360 controller and get the layout right. Why can't this game? Oh, and good luck getting diagonal presses on the d-pad to work in this game if you're using a Logitech controller. Even setting up through Profiler is hit or miss.
Steer clear of this game. It's absolute trash.
Terrible game, but the character interaction's very interesting. Worth playing if you can get over how janky the game play is.
