Contrary to popular belief, mods are not necessary to play this game. Vanilla STALKER is a great experience. If you want to play Vanilla the only thing I recommend installing is the Zone Reclamation Project which is a Vanilla bugfix mod.

Great deal for a classic FPS game, play on extreme difficulty or you're a bitch. The AI in this game really is top notch. The later installments in this series however are a let down.
