This game is mediocre at best BUT if you are really into strategy games the whole offense/defense system is quite interesting. There is also a research/upgrade system, a currency/scoring system called 'Genetic Outfitting Operational Plasma' or G.O.O.P, a stupid name to be sure, that rewards completeness and winning with a minimum of equipment and other buffs/abilities in your loadout.

Unfortunately I find strategy games to be especially prone to showing their age. The best thing this game has going for it are some of the mechanics which are semi-unique. The controls however are poor and your view can be easily obscured due to the rapid changes in elevations throughout the levels. Units can defend themselves but if they enter a skirmish you better be ready to issue commands because they are much weaker, both offensively and defensively.

The biggest flaw I experienced playing this game is that the control is not smooth enough to not have a pause function and allow commands to be given while the game is paused. Why the hell would the developers do this?

If you are curious enough to pick it up, then wait for a sale or obtaiin it in a bundle. If you do give it a shot, just prepare for a long tutorial
