This game is amazingly charming. For some reason, it just drags you in with it, and then pops a few surprises while you're playing it.
But that's just the atmosphere in this game. What this game is, is a 'retro' dungeon crawler, although it's hard to say if that's truly the case here. It's more along the lines of binding of isaac, with a unique looting system. It also has a lot of customization. A LOT!
The character editor is vast, you edit everything in pixel art. You can make your character have a horse's head if you'd want, as long as you know how to draw it in pixel art. Which can be a problem there, but if you're into doing that, go ahead.
Further customization is done in magic circles, which will force you to make more characters. All characters give certain buffs, have certain stats that affect how many buffs you can place etc. Needless to say, customization is the key selling point of this game.
A unique first person platformer, with the dynamic of a free runner. I'm loving it, and the races just make it all the more sweeter. Feeling you have the correct momentum to keep on going is just a great feeling.
There are some problems however. First of all, the combat is just irritating. Of course, it's supposed to deter you from fighting armed police squads which is about right. But when you try to pull off a frontal disarm it's almost impossible if you don't slow it down. This is true for the medium armored and up goons.
Despite that, the gameplay is fun to do, the graphics are very bright and colorful and keeps making me come back to do it better. I love it, and I'll be playing it whenever I can or want to.
Do you love hardcore platformers? Or want some more challenge? Played I Wanna Be The Guy and want more of it? then play this game. It's fun with its neat little platform 'gimmicks' and the controls are very simple. It's all up to you to figure out how to get through this.
However, if you're a keyboard smasher, avoid this like the plague, or be prepared to spend more money for this game.
