Rich Estes finally gets around to L4D and is blown away!!

I just played Left 4 Dead for the first time today, 5/2/09 and one of the players - a very good player named Legion - told me to set up a Profile. He typed "nobody can add you as a friend until you do that." So here I am.
The funny thing is, I should have been playing Left 4 Dead way before this. I know the whole history of the making of the game. Miles Estes is a close relative who worked for Valve for 4 years before returning to Southern California a couple years ago. But not long after that, he was asked by Valve to see if he'd be interested in helping out Mike Booth in Orange County. They said "Hey, Turtle Rock needs some staff - you know who they are - they created Condition Zero for us and they do all of our Counter Strike contract work."
So I got a call from Miles one day - "Hey I just passed that old Cordoba of yours. I might be coming down from LA a couple times a week working right across the parking lot from you." He was put on the job of doing all the animation for Mike's new brainstorm, The Infected. By the beginning of 2008, Valve bought Turtle Rock, and renamed the game, Left 4 Dead.
I was always planning to get the game - my forum buddies (After Dawn Forums - Official graphics card thread) have raved about it since it came out about 6 months ago. But I was waiting for my new hardware so I could run it 2560x1600 on high settings. Sam, in England, had talked for so long about how immersive his 30" LCD was, that finally a few months ago I got one - a big step up for me from my 19" lol!
But as forum guy Jeff says, with his beautiful 24" monitor, the problem with the 4 million pixels on the 30" is that you need super strong hardware to drive the thing - so true! Sam runs 4 gpus, and with his Q9550 he may be cpu bound.
So, the guys figure I might as well get slightly ahead of the game, with a nehalem build - overclocking a d0 stepping 920 to 4 ghz on a DFI Lanparty H8. I'm mostly a First Person Shooter guy, but the guys also play RTS, so I actually just bought World in Conflict - and versus FPS, I have to say that commanding the entire battle, all hell is really breaking loose! (Just like L4D!) But I have retired the game until the new build. The graphics are awesome - it's just too pretty of a game not to play maxed out. Plus, I should have just bought the original game. It felt really weird coming from a marine tutorial boot camp going straight to work for the enemy. Hahaha. I might sell it back on ebay.
Anyway, when I'm not fooling around with computers, I sell houses from time to time. I haven't worked as hard as I used to for a while, but now I'm thinking about scaling back the techno and transferring to an office with a guy I knew before he was promoted. They say that as a manager, he's pretty good, and "he makes you work." So my question (to myself) is, have I done enough serious nazi and zombie killing to be able to scale back a bit? Lol
