Well, I've had this summary as something pretty outdated for quite a while, so I'm hereby changing it. I first got into gaming on the original Playstation, with Medievil, Tekken, Crash Bandicoot and the like. I moved into PC gaming through Command and Conquer (although I was crap at it then and I still suck at RTSes to this day), The Sims, and Jazz Jackrabbit; which was made by Epic and is therefore the precursor to Gears of War and Unreal Tournament.
So from there my gaming eventually turned into Runescape, perhaps almost two years being spent in that wretched abomination. Luckily I eventually got a real game, Guild Wars, although you could argue it's not a proper MMO. But I've spent almost 5,000 hours in it and ended up in DVDF which is quite honestly the best PvE guild/alliance in the game, and certainly tying for the top three well known. I stopped playing in late 2007 when I got into college, but I love those guys and will be going back to Guild Wars 2 for them. Since my release from the shackles of GW, I've got into FPSes mostly, playing all the greats but really sticking my teeth into TF2, unlocking all 17 of the original achievements. In this spirit I'm looking forward to Left 4 Dead for what is arguably gaming's first real co-op experience.
Outside of gaming, I enjoy writing and have an interest in philosophy, politics and technology, all of which regularly crop up in my work. I'm unemployed, having never had a real job because I'm quite lazy and go a bit weird in interviews.

Representing the Guild Wars [DVDF] Alliance on Steam
The DVDF Alliance is one of the most well known and respected PvE player groupings in Guild Wars. At the forefront of the community even before the release of Factions, DVDF still regularly hosts events for both the wider community and special challenge-type events within our own members.
Despite the mass exodus of players from Guild Wars now that no more content will be released until GW2, the guild-of-the-week winning DVDF alliance has maintained a core group of a few hundred players who remain loyal and keep the DVDF forum an active, vibrant community.
Indeed, recently we have held a 'dingbat' drawing competition which has attracted official recognition from Arenanet and over 500 serious entries.
