UConn V.G.O. is the University of Connecticut's official Video Game Organization. We meet every week to play video games, talk about the gaming industry, and hold tournaments. More broadly, we try to promote video games as a serious visual and narratory artistic medium. We play console games, including XBOX 360, PS3, Wii, Playstation 2, XBOX, Gamecube, Genesis, SNES, NES; as well as PC LAN gaming, so bring your laptop and an ethernet cable if you're interested.
Starting this semester, we will also be hosting leagues for Super Smash Brothers Melee and Street Fighter IV. Rankings will be decided based on a point system representing the players' performance, and the results will be posted on the website and the forum. There is no entry fee, and prizes will be awarded to the top players at the end of the semester.
We meet every Tuesday night at 9:00, in rooms 318 and 321 of the Student Union.
Everyone can join, so come check us out!
If you would like any extra information or to discuss the group, please head over to our Facebook group: University of Connecticut Video Game Organization.
