I think the best recommendation I can give for this game is that even though I saw literally all the the original had to offer almost a decade ago, I STILL bought this first day it was released, AND it still managed to catch me by surprise. It's just as subversive as it was in 2013, and if you think you're clever and know all this game's tricks because you played the original, you know nothing. I know because that's exactly the mindset I went in with, and I was quickly shown how wrong that was. Experience it again, I promise you.

This game is the sequel I waited over a decade for. The first game was one of my favorite platformers when I found it, and when I had heard there was a sequel coming, I was READY. Now, when I had heard this game was coming, all I wanted was a follow-up to the cliffhanger from 1 (and Rhombus, after that came out). It could've played the same, and I would've been fine. HOWEVER, not only did the story surpass my expectations of what they could build off of from the world the first game created, the gameplay received so many major improvements. Each power was improved, and could be leveled up after unlocking. New features left and right, each of them incredibly useful and creative. Mental cobwebs were replaced with collectibles that were much more fun. And the devs are always listening to feedback, and that meant so much to see. Given the game's themes and the target demographic, it deserves that accessibility and attention to details and playerbase. This game blew me away, and while it will never replace the original, it certainly lived up to it.

Bejeweled 3 has a lot more to offer than I expected from a game like this. When I played this for the first time, I expected not much outside of the main mode, a filler game to play when you need to scratch that puzzle itch. While traditional Bejeweled is an option, there's a lot of options that vary in terms of difficulty and tensity. You want the most relaxing puzzle game experience ever? There's Zen mode with different levels of customization for your comfort. You want something strategic? Try Poker to search for specific matches to create good hands to survive. You want difficulty or high stakes? Lightening, Butterflies, Ice Storm, and Treasure Hunt all give this in different, unique ways. This game even has a sort of campaign mode that teaches you how to play the other modes, as well as having their own creative minigame modes using the Bejeweled mechanics... with varying levels of success.

I played this with a friend, and while not the scariest experience, it was certainly one of the funniest I've had. The campy nature of Resident Evil is really accentuated by the addition of a second player, and knowing someone's got your back also makes this game a lot less stressful. Usually, anyway. :P

Pretty much more of the same of what I said about the first one. While there are some improvements, such as the new mechanic to change between the Bones at any time once they all meet up, most of the issues from the last one are still apparent. Story takes a backseat to gameplay, gameplay is either dully straightforward or obnoxiously confusing, bugs everywhere. You can tell they tried their best, but you can also tell this was one of their earliest titles with little experience and an engine that came out in 2005. I understand why it's so poor, but that doesn't make this unfinished Bone series any less disappointing.

I want to like this game. I want to like it SO MUCH. It's one of my favorite graphic novels from my childhood turned into a fully animated, fully voice acted video game made by one of my favorite game companies, and much of the dialogue is either taken directly from the books, or written in a way that is clearly inspired by them, However... this game has NOT aged well at all. While the animations are impressive for the time, everything else is underwhelming compared to Telltale's later titles, like Strong Bad or Sam & Max. The story's presentation isn't nearly as strong as the books, mainly because of the voice acting or camera angles, and even the gameplay itself distracts from the story. The gameplay compared to the high-energy of Telltale's later titles, is rather dull and either boringly simple or annoyingly complicated, no real balance. It's also a bit buggy, a trait Telltale keeps for a while. I'd recommend just reading the books or maybe watching the cutscenes.

If it were anything higher than a dollar, I would probably NEVER recommend this, but here we are. Bad Rats is a game that is pretty hilariously broken, and one of those bad games people probably need to experience to see just how bad it is. The physics are inconsistent, things clip into the foreground or background in a 2.5D game, the solutions are completely random at times, some of the solutions the game gives you DON'T EVEN WORK, and the save system lets you cheat the online scoreboard that exists for some reason. This game is functionally broken and poorly put together, but still functional and honestly hilarious in its inconsistency sometimes. It is essentially "The Room" of videogames.

This game was a fun adventure, honestly. It clocks in at under two hours, and I beat it in a single livestream (including something else, as well) but the narrative it tells without a single word is one that has stuck with me, and honestly even made me cry a little. It felt almost like playing a short film. It's hard for me to compliment the story elements without spoiling it, given how short it is, but it does have a good theme to it that the game carries over the course of your exploration. It was also so fun to explore each new areas, and see these wonderful creatures, some of which even join you on your adventure. Every area feels unique and beautiful, and any screenshot I took looked like an art piece. I wouldn't call it just a walking- er, swimming sim, since there are plenty of creative puzzles to solve to reach these new areas. If $20 for two hours seems unreasonable, though, feel free to wait for a sale. It's small, but strong.

"A game that feels made for everyone. Tons of decisions for how your character is presented, a cast of characters with issues that feel sympathetic and potentially relatable, an intriguing mystery that leads deeper and deeper the further you play, and classic point and click adventure style gameplay, with a few minor twists to keep it varied. Only issues I came across was the epilogue booting me to a softlock status back in the first real chapter and no skip button for if I didn't save."

I wrote this back on another website, and while I still enjoyed my time with 2064 and stick to this opinion, if you've read the other reviews for this game, you'll know that developer and co-publisher MidBoss and its founder, Matt Conn, have been revealed to have done some pretty shady things to their employees as well as the LGBT community as a whole. I loved my time with this game, it was even my favorite game I played last year, so I will still rate it positively. However, it is a cautious recommendation. I want people to enjoy the charming writing and fun gameplay, but I'd recommend buying it when on sale, or even getting it for free if that ever happens. The game is worth it, worth every penny, but the company behind it seems extremely sketchy at this point.

...oh, and there's also a demo you can try as well, in case you'd like a quick taste of how the game plays.
