For how cheap it is, this game has given me more content than many of the $30+ games I own. Definitely one of my favorites.

This is a great game for anyone who likes a challenge. You can't much harder than permadeath (though it can be turned off). It also has a great sense of humor to it.

At first glance, you could call this 2D Minecraft and move on. However, Terraria sets itself apart from Minecraft with a few additions.

First, while it has items straight out of Minecraft like bows and mining picks, there are many more types of items to make, including grappling hooks, guns, and boomerangs.

Second, there's a greater emphasis on combat and exploration, including underground jungles, dungeons, and bosses.

So, don't pass on Terraria just because of the similarites. You might be pleasantly surprised.
