Gemini Rue is a grainy, point-and-click adventure set in a far science-fiction future. You control two characters. The first is Azriel Odin, the assassin turned policeman who is searching for his abducted brother. The second is Delta-Six, an inmate at a mysterious facility from which he recently attempted to escape, causing his memory to be wiped. The paths of these characters will intersect in a very unexpected way, and the storyline of the game is probably the best reason to play it. The adventure mechanics are pretty standard, although solving the puzzles can get frustrating at times. There is also a minimal combat element, which is relativey minor in the game. It took me about eight hours to work through this adventure, and it was definitely worth it for the great ending.

Botanicula is a whimsical point-and-click puzzle adventure set in the boughs of an enormous tree. Your goal is to guide an intrepid bunch of adventurers to the ground far below, so they can plant a seed. However, your journey is complicated by the presence of menacing black creatures that suck the life from everything around them, you must be wary of these. During your travels, you will encounter all sorts of wonderful, curious creatures, which is one of the aspects that makes the game so enjoyable. Unfortunately, the adventure runs a little short, as it only takes around three to four hours to finish at a moderate pace.

At first glance, this game looks like your standard 2D platformer. Then you realize that you have to manupluate time in order to accomplish what would otherwise be impossible objectives. Each level adds a new twist and stretches the laws of the game to the limit. Some of the pieces are conceptually tricky to get, but its worth it to get to the end WHICH WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. When I finally realized what was happening, I was struck dumb. Buy this game.
