Shank 2 is a great followup to the original boasting good action and a fun amount of fighting. The story and theme is set more around a tropical place as Shank tries to help overthrow the corrupt mafia with some help from others. The cutscenes usually boast more amounts of action and bloody gore than dialogue fromo the first, fitting for a good action movie. The fighting mechanics have also been beefed up with a more robust system enabling longer combos and more launchers along with new weapons along with some returning ones. Visually the game looks as great as the first with its animated style along with a great backing soundtrack. With an action movie charm, Shank 2 is great for players of the first or those wanting a fun beat em up experience.

So all in all, spent 6 hours in a day for that game. I did feel the game was short like the first but this was even shorter, dang! Achievements are tougher and longer though in my opinion.

And that's another hour spent doing counter attacks for pistol and baseball bat. Frankly I had 20 or so to do more on them so that was time easily spent.

Well, had to get Freedom Fighter, so I did 20 or so more prisoners escaped by grinding it out for 20 mins. Guess the weapons stuff will be done in Survival mode.

Well, got The Collector achievement after I beat the game. I had 22/24 after beating it, so I had to grab the Anatomy Diagrams and Doctor's Bio from a guide.

Spent 4 hours according to Steam. I did not play Survival mode yet. Difficulty-wise it's not too hard, although some parts kept killing me, especially one on the last level. The boss strategy seems for most part based less on jumping over their charges but a simple amount of attack, counterattack. The roll strategy helps to promote dodging attacks. I'm not sure why but the story feels like a throwaway as cutscenes are filled mainly with action sequences than further advancing the story through dialogue, but it's still great to see the amount of violence the animators pulled off.
