This is great fun.

I bought the VIP package months ago, and upgraded to the GOTY edition, but only recently started really playing it. "Skiing" takes some practice, and aiming while skiing takes quite a bit more. But it really gives you the feeling of moving at superhuman speeds, and running like crazy while dodging has always been my favorite part of CTF games. Game performance, in terms of frames per second, is excellent, and the use of HUD elements is intuitive and immersive.

Just finished the game. It is indeed pretty frightening.

A good successor to the Civilization series. I like a number of the changes over Civilization IV. Some of the pointless tedium has been removed, and the single combat unit per tile and the ability of cities to defend themselves makes attacking and defending more comprehensible and thus more fun. I find victory in single-player to be painfully anti-climactic, but I've just discovered how much fun multi-player is.
