"I LOVE YOU AND I WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU. – MOM"

It's been quite some time since I've been totally blown away by game story-wise. And usually it falls down into the hands of this franchise, because last time I checked, it was Far Cry 3 that blew me away 7 years ago. It was fascinating how in some kind of twisted way it (story) was relatable to the player, considering the fact that it was about killing pirates and hunting wild animals on tropical island.

What I consider fascinating about story of FC4 is not that it is relatable, because I believe it is not, at least not in the same sense as FC3, but how deep it was. By deep I don't mean deep in terms of philosophy, or complexity. I can't wrap my head around how the story closely resembled real life and how things in the world usually works. How blind we usually are, when we follow our beliefs, how different the end result typically is in comparision with the initial idea, how things turns out completely different than the things we stood for in the beginning, how powerless we are in the grand scale of everything, how we think we can change something and we thought we changed something, changed something for good, but in the end it ends up same or usually worse, how we trust those who fed us lies, but can't trust those who tell us the truth, how our own personal biases and perceptions can skew the reality and how we can't distinguish bad from good and good from bad because of those two, how hypocrisy, deception and lies rules the world and rules us, whether we want to admit it or not.

You can learn a lot from this game. I certainly did. But to "experience" it all, you have to go through it without rushing and with open mind, read every letter and journal, listen to all the dialogues and put it all together. Only after that you will find the real value that Far Cry 4 holds.

I also wrote this primarily for myself, as the story is stuck in my head heavily and I'm hoping that writing this and getting it off will put me at ease and soon will be gone.

I ain't really gonna say anything, I just want to give thumbs down to this "game" because, well, because fk this scriptfest manipulative bs so called "NBA 2K20" designed to milk you outta your every single penny. As somebody said, 2K might be even worse than EA. And that's something.

Few months later: This game is a joke. I'm just so glad that this 'review' got such a reach and I very much hope that at least few people didn't buy this garbage because of it.

26.10.2020: After playing Madden NFL 2020 for some time, I stand corrected. I've never been dissapointed so much with a game. I wasn't sure if I'm sad, angry, disgusted, or just wanted to vomit. 2K certainly did tremendous job in comparision what is EA doing with Madden. I really have to admit it.

"INSECT. ARE YOU AFRAID? WHAT IS IT YOU FEAR? THE END OF YOUR TRIVIAL EXISTENCE?"

I am fully aware that the reviews should be somewhat complex, covering every aspect of game and not just one sentence about how great the game is. But right now, I can not put anything more out of me. I am absolutely stunned.

"LAST TIME I WAS HERE, I SAW MY F*CKING DENTIST"

God. Finally I'm done with that. I've decided to write the review before hunting rest of the achievements, so the anger and hate won't be in conflict with the final number. Anyway, let's get into this.

Back in the 2011, this game was hyped as hell. Literally, oh boy it was hyped like a motherf*cker. Advertised as something which is going to crush Call of Duty, Battlefield and Medal of Honor (RIP). Homefront was AAA game with classic retail price of AAA game. You know what that is. When I look back, reviews weren't bad at all. Actually, they were pretty solid. Some went above 9, some around 8 but most of the time it didn't go below average. What does that mean? Nothing, just some reminder that taking reviews from Day One seriously is not really good idea.

Anyway, I guess we all already know how it is with this game after some period of time, right?
I'm going to entirely focus on the Single Player, as always, because MP doesn't interest me at all and I'd have to encounter it just for the sake of achievements. Also it's pretty dead as far as I heard.

Story starts up big. Korean boot into the door. Boom. US is being occupied by some kind of unified Korea. They already controlling most of the country and they are actively giving hard time to both, civilians and resistance. And you are part of that. Of course you are, what else would you be doing out there.

Story itself is great. Finally we get to see the US being f*cked up hard and heavy by someone else (in this case and scenario) instead of US f*cking up rest of the world. My US fellas, don't get offended, I love you all tho :D
Voicing is mediocre, if we don't mention that your brother in arm, during fight against other Americans is screaming stuff in lines of "If this is the best you got KIM, then bring it" like what the f, and I'm not even mentioning that they scream same lines over and over and oveeer again.

I've liked the variety of missions, as they are in some way repetitive, but they do change by every chapter so, yeah they are pretty variable. Guerilla difficulty is both, frustrating and fun. Frustrating due to the fact that enemy often shoots you through the wall, often you can't shoot them from some position but yeah, they can shoot you. Also, sometimes they behave like they have WH. Also, some of those hillbillies have better aim than army members. But on the other hand, it was fun, or it wasn't..

Now, here comes the big and biggest two problems. Horrible AI and absolutely SH*TTY checkpoints. AI doesn't behave very smart, not even strategic and usually they just run straight to you, no matter that your allies are way ahead from you. They just ran through them to the player. I'm not even going to mention what it is on easiest difficulty.
And those checkpoints, oh my freaking god, whoever thought that the placement of them is great idea, I hope he is done within gaming industry. Just try it yourself, words won't describe.
Also Goliath is dumb as hell. Like what is that thing exactly anyway?

Only thing that might little bit refresh the overall gaming experience might be the freaking beautiful Oasis, and pieces of news papers. Yeah, I almost forgot to mention the shooting engine or gun engine or killing engine or whatever engine is that. I have really enjoyed that, at least that you can say was literally awesome.

I'm going to leave the number at 5, that means it's pure average and maybe little bit bellow that. To decide whether or not give it blue or red thumbs, I'm going to give it blue thumbs up, because it's 2017, game doesn't cost 50 euros no more, and for 1 DOLLAR IT IS PRETTY GREAT DEAL.

Bonus Point: Oasis

"MY HUSBAND IS DEAD! I DON'T WANT TO REMARRY. I ONLY WANT SEX. SEE MY P*SSY. CLICK HERE!"

Don't get me wrong. I love porn. To the fullest. I eat, breathe and live porn. But what the hell am I doing with my life playing this game? Somebody should make "School Tycoon" or "Make Education System Great Again Simulator", so nobody would create this one.
And no, there is no nudity here. I'm wondering what those people who are b*tching about that was thinking all along.
At least there could be some funny creator for porn pop-up ads like that one in the beginning.

Bonus Point: Digital Playground would be proud (or Woodman at least)

"ROSENBERG... ROSENBERG... OH, THAT BONKERS AMBULENCE CHASER! THAT GUY COULD DEFEND AN INNOCENT MAN ALL THE WAY TO DEATH ROW!"

I wanted to talk about Vice City straight after I finished that three days ago, but then I told myself, why not to extend the 80s Miami experience little bit more. Soo, what I did, what I did, what I did. Of course. Scarface. And not only that. Past 3 days I've been listening to sh*tload of 80s music albums, I've been listening to radio stations all over again and I did watch Scarface movie, that is just must-watch. For some reason I wanted to watch Miami Vice movie also, so I did. And you should too.

Vice CIty is that type of game at the moment, that doesn't require too much info about it. It's been out 15 years, everybody who was born few years before already played that, those who was born little bit after that doesn't care about that, to extend that, those who never played that most probably don't want to, or they're about to, not like they don't know about it. There is some imaginery ranking of GTA games. For me it's not like this, but I believe San Andreas is 1st. Or maybe, in 2017 it's not like that no more. Those 13 years old w*nkers, 14 years old hardcore st*pid kids, that goes like "Oooooh GTA V OG OG, GTA V GOAT" How can you say GTA V is GOAT when you never played GTA III and Vice City? Well, you shouldn't even played it in first place :D

GTA Vice City is story-driven, drugs affiliated, sunny, warm and exotic experience. Bottles of first class alcohol, beaches full of tanned b*tches in colorful bikinis.
Story has certainly some flaws, but they are minor. They don't really degrade the story and journey, maybe only that typical GTA fact that your way is from A to B but along the way there is C, D, E, F, G etc. etc etc. Voicing is great tho.

One of the most important parts of the game itself is the soundtrack, which is GODLY. That's it, no more words about that, let's just admit, one of the best soundtracks in gaming ever. Not only music gives you 80s vibe. Honestly, everything in the game gives you 80s vibe, even menu, that great pink color scheme, locations, Art Deco style of buildings, the city, people, cutscenes, just freaking everything and I love it. We love it.

This is the first time, I'm going to use "Everything" in Bonus Point section. Often it is hard to pick up one, but in this case, it's really hard as hell. Initially I wanted to put kentpaul.com there, which is last thing I'm going to talk about. I love when there is big promo for the games. Not just social media bullsh*t, but real promos, with short movies, websites etc. Do you remember promo for Far Cry 3 called Far Cry Experience? That's what I'm talking about. Oh boy that was exceptional.

Now , Rockstar made one website, back in 2002 as the promo for the game, it was called Kent Paul 80s Nostalgia Zone. The website is still running, the content is same as 15 years ago, and you can already see on the website how Internet looked 15 years ago. Also note that 15 years ago, how many people got Internet? Internet was new thing for most of the people around the world. Better question might be, how many knew how to use it.
For me, great move by R*, they expanded promotion to new areas, and maybe opened doors for others.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is vital and very important piece of gaming history. GTA III was revolution for the whole gaming industry, Vice City confirmed that and took it to new heights.

"REST IN PARADISE MAY 15 2017"

EDIT: Oh, I thought the game will completely be removed from Steam Store, but they just took away buy buttons.

Alright, well, as you already know, Remedy is forced to take down Alan Wake from Steam, Xbox Store, GOG and other digital platforms due to expiring music licenses. Some may say it's stupid and some may say it's understandable. Me personally, I think that there are just some situations in which renewing licenses and keeping that game "alive" just for the sake of I don't know what is really not worth it. Remedy also stated today, that they can't just remove the tracks from the game, reason was "large variety of engineering, resources etc.". Now, it's also been stated that they are looking to renew them, but they don't have timeframe, which in most of the cases means that no, they're not going to renew it.

Alan Wake is 7 years old, there's been just plenty and plenty and plenty of opportunities to get it almost for free (today is that day too). I believe lot of you will remember 2013 and awesome Humble Bundle where it was for 1 dollar. Also, who knows how many copies was sold this year, and for what price, and then there is that major question if it is really worth to take care of new licenses, if Alan Wake is still able to bring some income and revenue. Who knows right?

Now, I don't really want this "review" to be review yet. Thing is that I did not complete the game in time of this writing yet, I was close to the end of the game but still, there is no way I want to provide any word look into the Alan Wake game yet. Once I finish the whole game, I will write review for it, and edit it under this first article. Reason is, that I want to have opportunity to have review of Alan Wake, here at Steam, in my profile, because once it is gone from Steam Store, you can't obviously review it. I made same mistake with Metro series.

I do have a lot of personal stories with Alan Wake, which I keep for myself this time and lot of times, eras and dates are related to Alan Wake that also with the quality of the game itself makes it one of the best games I have ever played and it helped climb this game on the TOP10 of mine.

Also I do have near identical coat as the Alan is wearing during the game, it is basically same, I just don't have those elbow patches in black, but in grey color. Otherwise it is 100% identical and I feel so awesome when I'm wearing that :D

I also want to say to those people who have the game, don't sleep on it.
Those people who don't own the game yet, Alan Wake is pretty much worth actual retail price and I'm not even joking. This game is really one of few that is definitely worth full retail price of 30 euros/dollars so today, when you'll have opportunity to grab it in 90% discount for 3/4 dollars, holy sh*t go for it without thinking. That'll be one of the best buys you've done for the past couple of months.

Last thing, that is on my mind, is big shoutout to Remedy. In this case, that they did notice us, that game is going to be removed, not like others who just simple don't give a flying f*ck and remove it without even saying words. So, thanks for that and for the headsup.
Also note that American Nightmare will not be removed from Steam.

Bonus Point: Stephen King
Rating: Should be N/A since this is not review, but heck, take this 10/10

"EVEN CHESS TITANS ON WINDOWS IS BETTER"

Trying to find good chess game that is not against another human is pretty difficult to be honest. Steam doesn't have much of them, and those which are here are below-average. Chess Titans which is free to everybody who have Windows is way more advanced than this.

Me myself, I'm proud chess player. I love chess. I used to play chess as a kid. I used to go to some chess courses when I was in elementary school. But chess is not appreciated by majority. Not even by my mother LOL. She's saying it's useless but she's watching television garbage whole freaking day. Anyway, people who thinks that chess is game of nerds and geeks is literally and simply ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Take this L.

Chess Knight 2 is game no different than other chess games. It has nice visuals, but still Chess Titans looks way better. I believe there's no reason to say anything about mechanisms, chess is worldwide known game. But things, we should mention is AI, which is truly and really weak. Yes, it has 4 difficulty levels, but even on those it's easy. Simply, AI can't handle that.

Game offers multiplayer, local multiplayer and even playing on same screen, game have trading cards but it's just not enough to cover flaws. Not even achievements would help. Game was part of big bundle for 1 dollar, but it still doesn't mean it's worth that 1 dollar, so don't even think about 4,99.

Only positive thing about Chess Knight 2 was the actual fact it's about chess and that's it. And yes, I do appreciate that EnsenaSoft made actual chess game, but yeah, that's it folks.

Bonus Point: Chess

"KOVAC'S RULES"

When I look at Steam Store Page of some product, and see publishers, how they put those positive reviews into the description, sometimes I just wonder what was that certain magazine or website thinking. Yes, everything is subjective about this, even categorization or meaning of words, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, calling How To Survive in 2013 a "GEM"? Hell no!

Game wants to be either Dead Island or The Walking Dead, or even both, but as I see for majority of players it doesn't work and neither for me. If they used quotes from TWD, at least they could be more picky about selection. It's not like market is filled with zombie games, it's more like market is filled with average and bellow zombie games, and I can't help myself, but I feel How to Survive is just another regular zombie genre product with zero to none originality. But hey, it's still better than Dead Island Epidemic :D

Story is near average, same with overal script, but I liked the variety of weapons and also crafting of recipes. Visually, the game is nice looking, soundwise I didn't like it that much. Animations of finishers will get repetetive soon and so the fights will. Game will lasts you easily over 10 hours. Add another 10 for DLCs.

From survival point of view, it's yes. How to Survive feels above-average difficult, and it really gets interesting at Iron Man or Kovac's difficulty. If you feel as an player with people in the game, for me I had to say no and most probably you'll feel same.

To sum it up, nice, fast, difficult zombie action with lot of things to do, lot of crafting and fighting which might get repetetive after few hours, enough types of zombies makes the game more fresh, but still it has some major flaws, not just story but the whole game in overall. If you can get it during sale for 3-4 euros/dollars then get it, otherwise full price is no-no. I'm going to leave blue thumbs up just for the sake of two options Steam offers so far.
