This game is awesome and huge. There is so much stuff to do in this game, that you can be entertained for hundreds of hours without even any of the dlc or mods.

Also, if you opt for the dlc, it is great. Bethesda has definitely learned their lesson from the Horse Armor Incident, and has been consistently cranking out the best dlc money can buy. Also, the modding community for this game is probably the most productive you will ever find. The number of mods for this game on steam workshop and www.nexusmods.com quickly eclipsed Oblivion and is racing well ahead.

The graphics are amazing, can be made even better, and with modding will continue to always get better. The gameplay is intuitive and smooth, especially if you play with a controller. If you use keyboard and mouse, I recommend the Sky UI mod.

The introductory dungeon is a little excessive, and takes too long, especially during subsequent playthroughs, however it can be modded away. Also, the game can be a little overwhelming to people who are unused to this level of freedom in a game. Remember, that the game is for you to do anything you want in it. Be a hero or a villain. Be a wizard, fighter, thief, spy, any combination thereof, or come up with your own concept and play to it. The main story line is entirely optional.

That said, this game is also a little buggy. I would not expect to be able to do all of even the guild quests for more than two guilds on the same character. Your will eventually get an error or bug in your save file. That bug will eventually make entering a city, completing a certain quest, swimming, or loading crash your game. This usually won't happen until you've sunk an incredible amount of time in a character, but, this game saves all the scripts for all of the actions and their consequences for your whole game, and those scripts are eventually going to have a conflict.

In order to help alleviate this, I highly recommend downloading and installing the latest Unofficial Skyrim Patch mods. They are easy to find with any search engine, and if you read the instructions, installation is not difficult.

Edit 24Nov2016: I still prefer this version over legendary edition, and here is why. MOD Support. Bethesda changed the compression format for the archives borking most mods and removed steam workshop support for their own less useful "Bethesda Workshop." Nexus mods still supports both, but it's obvious which version has the modder community behind it.
