No bullshit..... Just soccer.....
The Beginning
In the summer of 2007 both the leaders Cor Lems & Marco Boogers started with CS:Source and quickly discovered a soccer map for it.
After playing it a few days they discovered that a lot of people didnt use teamplay in the public servers and both players started wearing a [078] tag which is the area code for Dordrecht.
After a while people asked if they could join [078] and soon there was a small team playing together in public servers. As public servers have people not playing seriously we decided to try and put up an own dedicated server from our home location.
When the dedicated 33 tick home server was running we came in contact with Lolobubu's soccer mod which was a good mod to start out with. That's when we ran into our 2nd problem: installing a server and skins.
In the beginning we tried to adjust Lolobubu's soccer mod but it didnt fit our needs to play matches in a proper way. Also a noob knife box (Toph's script) was installed where people would be punished if they knifed another player.
The Creation of FCD
At this time the clan was getting more serious and we changed the name to [FC Dordrecht] and made any new member get a FCD name to enter our clan.This is how members like Virgil and Nick got their names. FC Dordecht is a real football club in Dordrecht, the Netherlands playing in the Jupiler league.
During this summer the server got more crowded with each week and we started to get a name in the public sector. When the clan was a bit more stable we tried to search for other clans willing to play matches and thats when we ran into our 3rd problem: Established clans that didnt want to play us because we were a noob clan!
After some discussions and some accusing back and forth FCD decided to enter XSL's 5th season with a team of 15 players. Half way that season Cor Lems was asked to become XSL admin.
In the same period FC Dordrecht started their own website on their current adress: www.fcdordrechtclan.com and also taken a new 66-tick rental server instead of our laggy homeserver.
The Follow Up
After season 5, XSL took a big flight to the state its currently in and FCD members had a big part in creating it. Marco Boogers and Cor Lems started creating Soccer Mod 2008 which was specificly written for CS:Source soccer with a match system. Also skinning was done on a regular basis and bugs were fixed in certain maps.
It was until season XSL 6 when clans started to take FCD as a force to be reckoned with by winning 2nd place and the clan started to establish itself a name in CS:Source Soccer. Over the next seasons FCD won XSL cup 4 seasons in a row and became champion in season 7,9 & 10.
