This is truly Telltale's magnum opus. Everything they had learned up until this point melded together to make one of the greatest modern point and click adventures. Max's psychic powers add a lot to the experience, as there's more ways to solve the puzzles rather than just messing with items in your inventory.

On top of that, it has the single greatest concept of all time in the second episode. It becomes a non-linear storytelling experience, the only time I've seen it done well. Though of course, it's done in a humorous manner, as only the Sam & Max series can provide. Absolutely everything has been polished and put together in the best ways.

It's amusing that such a great game was once considered just a $35 hat for TF2.

There simply does not exist the words to describe this experience. This is easily the most important game to come out this generation. Everything about the game blends together what I can only assume was years of careful tweaking and testing until everything worked in perfect harmony. The story unravels naturally as you progress, without need for any long cutscenes. It's mostly told as you continue to play, without intruding or distracting from the gameplay. Every game, every genre, and every developer should be taking note from Bastion. It's the first time I've experienced the "I couldn't put it down" effect in game form. This is how game stories need to be told.

Upon first glance, you might write this off as just a 2D Minecraft clone. It's so much more than that. Terraria is more focused on exploration and combat. Caves are guaranteed to generate for you to explore and uncover, instead of being forced to randomly mine about. Enemies are frequent, plentiful, and quite a threat. There's items to find in randomly generated chests that enhance your character abilities reminiscent to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. There's boss fights, that are required for higher progression, dungeons to explore and raid. It's basically everything that I wanted from Minecraft and so much more. The frequent updates keep things fresh and interesting and coming back for more.
