This game is kinda fun, but seriously screw the developers for creating the Neurax Worm, what a load of crap.
Frankly humanity is kinda going wrong anyways, if anything a mind control worm would be better, if it were real anyways.

Is it a Remaster really? Idk, I haven't played the original, but gathering from what I've read from people who have, this probably wouldn't count as a proper "Remaster".
That being said, as a re-release for the PC, is it a good game still...?
Yes, it is! If you're a fan of JRPGs, this is definitely a game right up your alley! Voice acting is also fantastic!

I'll warn you now though, this game doesn't mess around. Compared to Persona 4 Golden, which is another Atlus title on Steam, this game is far more challenging and unforgiving. If you don't think carefully about how you put your team together, you could very well reach the game over screen from a random encounter.
However, the game isn't unfair. If you learn how to build and adapt your main character and his demon companions, you'll be able to mow down rows of enemies and dismantle bosses, all while self-sustaining your HP and MP.

The game's story and world are also very interesting, but I'll leave that for you to experience.

I've heard good things about Suda51 before, and he certainly didn't disappoint me with this. Some forms of media are less entertainment and more of an experience, and I would classify this game under that.

Definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a bit of violence.

Always dash into places where you cannot see - you've gotta see the world
Always take medium cover - cover is cover
Always shoot at enemies in cover - it will probably scare them away
Always stand next to fire - it can get cold out there
Always take your time on all missions - slow and steady wins the race
Always use rookies in every mission - everybody deserves a turn

Never use grenades - they're too dangerous
Never buy from the black market - don't do anything illegal
Never take full cover - you won't be able to see
Never use overwatch - your eyes need a rest
Never hack things - that is illegal and not nice
Never take the high ground - you might fall and break something

I'll keep this pretty short and sweet, so as to not create a massive wall. This is a REALLY good game.

A good way to imagine this game's combat system is to think of XCOM, but with a many RPG elements and other systems, such as the Matrix, Cyberware, Magic, and Drones, that set it apart and polish it as a one of a kind. I personally loved this games storytelling and asian setting, which is a really big part of the gameplay, so I will say this: If you like alot of story in your strategy games, this game is for you. If you however don't want to go through any story and just want raw gameplay, this may not be your kind of game.

Great game. If you've got a soft spot for asian themes like me, you'll probably like this one better than the games preceding it.

Literally just get horsemen. Don't recruit from the Rhodoks or the Nords unless you want fodder. Khergits are the best.

Legit though this game is tops for it's age. It does sort of throw you into it, but if you're smart you'll get the hang of it pretty quick. I didn't know what this game was going to be like until I bought it, and I'm glad I did.

Seriously tho horses are broken and you should only judge an army by the number of horsemen it has. I ain't gonna lie to ya.
