This game has frozen/hung at even single point from loading screen, start of mission, end of mission and once during a pre-scripted cinematic.
I can't ever recommend a game regardles of it's other merits if basic flaws such as this exist.
Until a patch comes out this is simply £30 poorly spent and can't recommend it for only that reason.
Very elegant RTS puzzler. The kinda game you can happily bomb thought the levels, if your that way inclined, and later re-visit to refine your strategy or even make more challenging!
The game engine driving From Dust is most impressive and nicely balances visually dramatic effects (Tsunami) with real-world physic (Water eroding sand to make contributory rivers).

Hmm, that's pretty much all that's added if you use SimCity 4 as a base comparison.
So what's taken away compaired to SC4?
A nice interface for one, for a God-game this must have one of the worst styles of I/F i've seen.
Performance sucks too. I've a good PC with a GFX470 gfx card, 4GB and 4 processor unyet playing the game for serveral hours, as would be expected for this type of game, you gradually slow down.
I can see how guys at Monte Crtisto dodged a lawsuit from EA/Maxis over CitiesXL 2011 because this game takes a very unusal (different) perspective on resource/demands in that I played this game for 2 hours being really unguarded with cash and still showed a strong positive flow!
I can't really recommend this game to somebody wanting, as I guess most people, a long and *good* update to SimCity as EA are definately not the studio to do this either.
In conclusion: An unfinessed & laggy spirtual successor to SimCity 4
