I came from the first Virtual World, from the Pixelated plains,
I am the arcade fan at heart – jumping over the fires of pixelated flames,
I stood upon the rocky blocks, I watched the Pong to Pacman come,
For so many years I'd been the first Gamer.

I came upon the NES after the crash of 1983
I played in the Mushroom Kingdom, endured the vast and Hard levels with no saves.
I'm a Mario, I'm a Link and I am a Samus when she runs
A child brought up on a D-pad, I became a Gamer.

I'm the daughter of a gamer who saw my father play
The girl became a woman on the games that no other girl would play
I was bullied at school because I was different but I met some nice people who game.
I'm a Girl, I play Videogames, I am a Girl Gamer.

And from all the Virtual lands on earth we come,
we share a dream,

I'm a teller of stories, I'm a composer of songs
I am the Miyamoto I am the programmer, and I paint the character art.
I am Wright organising his Sim City, I'm the Rockstar on the run in GTA
I'm the one who came up with the Gameboy and the DS, I made the games you love to play.

I'm the hot Hard-drive on your desk,
I'm the black/white and color 3D polygon
I'm the mountains and the valleys,
I'm the NPC that you help or kill
I am the rock and I'm the sky, the rivers when they run
The spirit of this great Virtual land, I am the Graphics of your games today.
